Gabrielle Henry, Jamaica's Miss Universe 2025 contestant, is in critical condition following a fall during the competition finals in Thailand last month. The incident occurred while Henry, an ophthalmologist, showcased her evening gown at the Impact Challenger Hall in Nonthaburi. Initially, she was reported stable with minor injuries, but further assessments revealed more severe conditions, including an intracranial hemorrhage.

The fall happened as Henry tripped on her gown and plunged through an opening on stage. A viral video captured the moment and the immediate response from pageant officials who rushed to assist her. Nawat Itsaragrisil, the director, initially informed the media of her stable condition, although he noted she seemed nervous before her presentation.

After a reevaluation, the Miss Universe Organisation (MUO) updated her condition, detailing serious injuries like a fracture and facial lacerations. Plans are underway to transport Henry back to Jamaica with full medical support for continued care. The MUO is committed to covering all medical expenses, emphasizing their support for Henry and her family throughout the recovery process.

The MUO clarified that Henry was not at fault and refuted baseless rumors blaming her for the accident. They assured the public that they are actively involved in ensuring her well-being. As discussions about onstage safety arise, the pageant community reflects on the incident's implications, reported The Thaiger.

Key Takeaways

  • Gabrielle Henry suffered major injuries after a fall during Miss Universe 2025.
  • The MUO is managing her medical care and expenses in Thailand.
  • Henry will return to Jamaica shortly for further treatment.

An ophthalmologist failed to notice an opening on the stage

I wonder why there was an opening on the stage? The MUO say she wasn't at fault. The post mentions questions about onstage safety, which doesn't sound good.
