A tourist from the United Arab Emirates was killed in a motorcycle collision involving his friends in Phang Nga, Thailand, on December 12. The accident occurred on Phetkasem Road, about 1.5 kilometers from Takua Thung Police Station. Police arrived at 6.30 pm alongside rescuers, finding three overturned motorcycles and one crashed into the central median, all damaged.

The victims were UAE nationals exploring the area on rented motorcycles from Phuket. One tourist suffered critical injuries and was given CPR before being transported to Phang Nga Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The other three riders sustained minor injuries.

Investigations suggest that the crash happened when one of the riders lost control while navigating a downhill curve, leading to the collision. Police are examining the incident further to determine precise causes and will follow legal protocols.

Motorcycle accidents have been frequent in Thailand, with another fatality reported on December 14 in Chon Buri. A Thai rider died while overtaking a van turning into a store. An earlier incident in Pathum Thani saw a female rider crash into a truck, resulting in her death.

These accidents highlight ongoing traffic safety challenges in the country. Authorities consistently remind road users of the dangers and promote adherence to traffic laws to prevent more tragedies.

Looking ahead, police will continue their investigations into this latest incident to establish clearer circumstances. The outcomes may contribute to broader efforts to improve road safety for both residents and tourists in Thailand, reported The Thaiger.

Key Takeaways

  • A UAE tourist died after a motorcycle crash in Phang Nga, Thailand.

No shirt while driving?  All should be fined, not allowed.

Idiots ! Did they ever drive a Motorbike at home ? No way...

Tourists have never read that Thailand has one of the world's highest vehicular death rates. UAE drivers shouldn't think the accident rate here is lower than at home.

I don't know, were these big bikes?  Mid east dudes like road rockets and those island roads can be tough for experienced riders. One thing the guy in the dark shirt sure looks skeptical at whatever he is hearing.. thought that was a hoot..

Learning to ride a Bike better then adhere to Traffic laws,  hire some  experienced people  who know how to ride and drive,  ( not found in Thailand)  rather than the idiots that have now issuing Driving licences
