Best place for hernia operation.

Featured Replies

Hi all.

As the title says, where's a good place for the operation?

RAM seems logical as we live inside the moat and the can bus the family around ect, but any experience with McCormick or others?

Not urgent, but I want it done asap and looking at the more open process, not laproscopic for cost reasons.

And if you have had it done before, what was your experience like?

Let me know.

Cheers.

Had it done in Bangkok last year. Like you once I found I had one I wanted it taken care of asap. I went the laparoscopic way. Checked in at 5pm, prepped and into the OR at 7pm. Back in my room by 8:30p, and released the next day at noon. Some pain after coming home for a few days but nothing bad. Heavily recommend going the laparoscopic way. No scar at all and no after effects at all. Well worth paying more rather than invasive surgery.

I had the laparoscopic surgery done in February at a government hospital near Nong Khai. Half the price of what a private hospital quoted for open surgery, Excellent results, no pain, no scars. The drawback was that I had to stay 2 nights in the hospital. Look around your area to find a good hospital. Mine was labelled "a regional center of excellence for laparoscopic procedures' and my insurance reimbursed the cost.

Last year I had back surgery done and the surgeon used a modern robot (da vinci) at sripath hospital. I had stenoses and they freed up the nerve. The next day I was walking again and the pain was gone. Atached a video of the surgery. Here they free up the nerve.

Re the heading - I have had three hernia operations, all done by qualified doctors in registered hospitals.  Ergo, try a hospital.
