Bangkok drugstores awash with fake Viagra

BANGKOK: -- A large number of drugstores in Bangkok are selling fake medication and illegal sexual enhancement drugs, the deputy secretary-general of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Raviwan Preedreesanith warned today.

Mrs. Raviwan said that recent raids on drugstores in the Sukhumvit and Bang Rak areas of the capital had found 11 pharmacies selling fake products and other medicines for which they had not obtained a license.

Stressing that legal action was now being taken against the offending stores, she said that the FDA would continue to carry out checks on drugstores to ensure consumer safety.

The stores raided last week were found to be selling several varieties of unregistered sexual enhancement drugs, as well as drugs which are restricted to distribution by hospitals.

The stores owners now face prison sentences of up to 20 years, and will have their licenses revoked.

Mrs. Raviwan warned that the use of fake sexual enhancement drugs could be life-threatening to consumers, particularly those with existing heart conditions.

Just what is "fake viagra"?

Does it give you a fake H--D on?

To me fake is something that is NOT what it appears to be.

The indian versions of Viagra do not fall in that category!!
