A fight between two foreign tourists erupted on Pattaya Beach Road in the early hours of 25 December 2025, briefly causing alarm among bystanders and other visitors in the busy seaside area.

It's the most wonderful time of the year
With the kids jingle belling
And everyone telling you be of good cheer
It's the most wonderful time of the year
It's the hap-happiest season of all
With those holiday greetings and gay happy meetings
When friends come to call
It's the hap-happiest season of all

Or trying to pull the other guy's pants down.

I see one guy landing at least 4 punches and another guy not hitting once. Even if the defensive guy rubbed shoulders with him before, he wasn't the one looking for a fight.

What's all the agro about these days? I'm an old geezer now but decades ago when I came to Pattaya I felt like the king of the castle and I was as happy as could be sitting in a bar with a cutie on my knee, and banging away all night long. Getting agro and fighting were the furtherest things from my mind, and everyone else around me was in the same frame of mind back then. I can't recall ever seeing punchups back in the 70s,80s,90s.

You are exactly right . I started coming to Pattaya and Phuket in 1990 and in those days there was never any idiots like those 2 walking around. It's got to be due to the relaxation of pot laws  which in itself is probably no real problem but when they start to mix  it with all the other drugs that they can get their hand on very cheaply that.'s when they go stupid. It's sad really because as you say everybody was relaxed and happy in those days only wanted a good time with no dramas.

Despite extensive forensic testing no Testosterone was found at the scene …

Too much booze, swaggering to impress the ladies (or lady boys)  idiots like these are always there.  I genarrally hold my line when i see them coming and move quickly when the are about to contact - it is a childs game.

I agree, the world is not the same since that fkn pandemic and the lockdowns, I think a lot of people went crazy through that.

Maybe whilst siting around at the bars all day during the 70s,80s,90s explains why you," can't recall ever seeing punch ups". LMFAO

A pair of right plonkers, Rodney!

I haven’t had a drink this Christmas, and I haven’t really felt the urge to.

I was in Bangkok from 17 to 20 December with my family, and we enjoyed a few drinks at The Roadhouse in Suriwong, the beer spot in Siam Square, and even the famous ping pong shows in Patpong (family insisted we see it once!). Furthermore, I didn’t see any bad behaviour or out-of-control drinking. It actually felt safe, pleasant, and surprisingly clean in the tourist areas.

I even went to the gym on Christmas Day — not because I desperately wanted to, but it was better than sitting around the house eating all day.

I might have a small sherry for New Year.

To be honest, when you live here and can drink any time, the novelty fades.

And since Christmas isn’t really celebrated in Isaan where I live — apart from the supermarket checkout staff wearing festive hats — it’s just another normal day

I actually don't agree with you that it is weed or drugs, although methamphetamines can lead to violent conduct, but isn't the drug of choice for tourists.

I think the standard of tourist has dropped remarkably from all nations with cheap flights,

In the late eighties and early nineties, you had to have a reasonable amount of money to come here, now, it has just become ' Benidorm or Blackpool with no knickers on! '

Brits will understand my last comment.

A post with derogatory trolling comments toward Pattaya has been removed.

All I saw was two gaylords dancing.

I first came to Thailand and Pattaya back in 2002 and felt quite comfortable to not have to "carry". I never saw fights and never worried too much about watching my 6. I began to notice change several years later. By 2010 it was really different. I was there for about a month in 2010/11 and many of my old hangouts were gone or changed to a degree that something just wasn't there that used to be. I returned again with a stay in Jomtien visiting an old friend from England and the FLB bar days with my Lao lady (who is still with me). FLB for one was gone, kinda' of a meeting place for many Americans when they used to come in more numbers. The beer bar complex just before walking street was changed with some of the old bars gone. Some of it could be that I had changed, spend more time up in Issan, bought a house for wife (mistake-divorced), retired and was no longer a one month millionaire. Last time I went it was a sorry shell of its former self. Frankly to see what used to be a great party town made me sad.

Much older now, crippled and can't speak thanks to Agent Orange cancer, I've no desire to return. I've got the memories of a time that all the younger new commers will never know and a Lao lady that has stuck with me all these years.

Word has it that they grabbed a couple of drinks together in Boystown and made up in an upstairs room.

Any TV show with the word Celebrity in the title.

White shirt, white pants, white shoes.

I would've cheered for the dude with the man bag.
