I'd recommend it - not been in a fight in 23 years of long stays in Thailand (totalling 8 years +). And I don't only haunt temples.

Drug abuse, possibly, but I don't recall having to watch where I am walking to make sure I don't step on discarded needles.All of the above isn't exclusive to Pattaya by any means. Can be, and is, found in most big cities anywhere.
