Seems to be a shortage of Cola Light. None of the places we visited had any.... Tesco Lotus, Big C, Carrfour. A call to the Coca Cola factory and the spokesman stated " Shortage of Cola Light so we stop producing it"

Huh? As our Thai staff just said “This is Thailand marketing 101"

Still substitute Coke for any product. Could you ever imagine hearing " A shortage exists so we stop producing it" The Thais can laugh and in unison say " Thailand Marketing! " I love this Country!

In the UK the government appointed manager of the millenuim dome, on realising profits were down due to the fact that not enough entry tickets were being sold, put the price up to recoup more profit!!! Guess what happened then!

Honestly, I have never seen any demand for it. Only fat Americans at McDonalds seems to want it.

Maybe he meant to say there is no demand, so they stopped manufacturing it?

this is what I thought too, no demand so no need for further production. What would happen when the people here would start eating and drinking 'light' products? Some people already weigh not that much more than 45 kg...

That’s what you would surmise, but I had another Thai person call back and they repeated it… "shortage so we stop producing it". As for demand, it does sell great where the Foreigners are.

By the way, they have never produced it here for fountain soft drinks. Only Coke regular.

Guess I'll have three suitcases loaded next week with Diet Coke coming back to Bangkok

BlackJack, fight for your rights and if you don't get the light call the guy who's brainchild the elite card was.

But don't forget, to pay you need a credit - card. The prestige card has no monetary value.
