Venezuela Beats US To Become World Champions In Baseball

Featured Replies

Wait, what?? Isn't there something called the World Series played every year? Is that just fake news?

Anyway, can't imagine how absolutely fantastic this must have tasted for the Venezuelans, beating the colonial power who fielded a team of cocksure ***** disliked by all, even by many Americans.

Felicidades to the Venezuelan team, reigning World Champions in basketball!🥳

Viva Venezuela! How big is this win? I'm asking because I know nothing about the game other than the players seem to be wearing pajamas.

I read somewhere that the US fielded a very strong team, so is this like the miracle on ice in reverse?

  • Author

Is this true? Can anyone who watched the game confirm this? It does fit with what's been written by the US team though.

Congratulations to the Venezuelan baseball team!

But there's an old adage in baseball that on any given day even a last-place team can beat a first-place team.

There's just a low correlation between team quality and the outcome of a single game. That's why, in addition to financial considerations, MLB playoffs and the World Series consist of multiple games. The WBC does not use this format.

It seems the Venezuelans got quite a kick out of this. Understandably so, I would say.😆

Well, that's possibly a little excessive, but I do understand there are a lot of strong feelings involved, particularly on the Venezuelan side.😄

Yes, but baseball will forever be owned by the Venezuelans!thumbsup

This is just as bad as the Americans beating the Canadians at Hockey, Baseball is considered an American Sport - that has to hurt.

I love watching the World Series of Little League, all those countries with so much baseball talent battling it out is amazing. Even the losers are uplifted by even qualifying for the Series, unlike the droopy faced Americans in the Bullpen when they lost “Biggly"

This post seems to be very popular. Is it funny to Americans as well?thumbsup

I'm sure the critic can hit a 90 mph slider out of Yankee Stadium like the person he is making his childish memes about.

Some folks need to get a life

Forever is a long time. Your comment will age well over the years.

Smh.

I know you're hurting, but you should remember that a US team will certainly win the next World Series. that should provide you with some comfort, am I right??

In the mean time I'll leave you with this, and I will graciously not point out that the "schadenfreude" felt in the tiny international beisbol community seems to be off the charts.

If they love baseball so much why dont they stay in Venezuela and play locally for money ? Why do 19 of them play in MLB?

If you can't figure that one out by yourself you're definitely worthy of a place in the Trump administration. Hey, maybe you can apply for DHS, I hear Markwayne Mullin is facing some headwinds!

PS. Do you know why Mullin has two first names?

Ok so gibberish it is. Keep doing you.

It wasn't a single game. It is a tournament. You do understand that, right?

Now, that's plain evil. Forcing people to stand around in the sun wearing PJs would be torture, and not only for the spectators!😆

Probably the same reason so many USA citizens play in the NHL...

I pay very little attention to baseball other than the big personalities. I could care less.

If its not Manchester United, the Buffalo Billss, or random NHL matches that involve either the Canes, the Rangers or the Sabres then Im not really interested,

HBU? Whats your team? Gonna root for Iran at the World Cup?

Well sure, there are a lot of folks who supported the criminal Maduro regime. Criminals support criminals

Ummm the majority of NHL teams are based in the usa. So there's that.

Are you actually admitting, here on this forum, that you're a criminal??

The USA and Venezuela played a total of one game against each other in the 2026 WBC. You do understand that, right?

Because of the nature of the game, tournaments dont show who is "the best". But it was still fun to read about and watch the highlights, especially because I like Japanese style Baseball

Baseball is your national sport. Hockey is Canada's. 42% of players in the NHL are Canadian. 28% USA, despite being 10x larger 🤣 Really doesn't matter where the teams are located. Canucks are making bank in the NHL. The random few USA athletes which choose ice hockey over the Big Three USA sports are playing on Canada's rink 😉
