Fortunately, fuel prices in Thailand have not gone up too much. In the Philippines I was paying Php52/liter before the war, but now Php112/liter or more.

They went up a lot but then fortunately decreased again somewhat. For context, diesel was 29.99 Baht / Liter until late February (this price was fixed until March 17) and then shot up, in stages, over the course of about 3 weeks to 50.29 Baht / Liter. It has since sunk to 40.25 Baht / Liter.

Admittedly, prices have shot up much more in Laos and Myanmar, compared to what they were before March.

You can thank the Americans that were dumb enough to vote for Trump for this!

Bill the Israeli embassy in Bangkok to see if they can help since they started it.

  • This is false. A good rule of thumb in airline ops: ✈️ Typical difference Two 6-hour flights burn about 5–15% more fuel than one 12-hour flight. Why that range? It depends on ai

I remember grumbling a couple of years ago when flights from Bangkok to Europe crept past the thousand pound mark. I wish that was still the problem.

Just been looking at fares back to the UK for a family visit later this year and the prices are genuinely eye-watering. What used to be a manageable fare is now pushing close to double what I'd expect to pay, and that's if you can find a seat at all on the route you want.

The main issue seems to be the ongoing Middle East situation forcing airlines to reroute away from Gulf airspace, making flight paths longer and burning more fuel. The Gulf carriers — Emirates, Etihad, Qatar — were always the ones keeping prices competitive through their Dubai and Doha hubs. With that corridor disrupted, everyone's feeling it on the Bangkok to Europe routes.

Thai Airways has also announced fare increases citing rising fuel costs, and today Thailand just put fuel prices up 6 baht per litre, so that's not heading in the right direction either.

Anyone else been hit by this? Found any decent alternatives or are you just holding off hoping it settles down? I'm genuinely not sure whether to book now and take the pain or wait and risk it getting worse.

Thanks

Lots of cheap fares.

There is a good chance this is all started by the WEF if not they are relishing in it all as it plays into the 2030 agenda.

Absolutely. The phake Iran so-called war is a psyop ... and prelude to the Evil Doers' wicked 2030 plans.

Your arxxse will be grounded in your 15 minute city one way or another.

Decreased (or altogether eliminated) travel due to unaffordable fuel or flight tickets is a mostly frictionless path for the Controllers.

Geo engineering (modding the weather to push the phake climate change agenda) is more complicated, but there's only mother nature to blame when bad weather grounds your flight, right?

But one could argue that there are too many people on the planet and the planet cannot sustain current consumption levels. Not because of "global warming", just because of lack of resources. And since people are unwilling to restrict their consumption, they do it in a roundabout way.

I'm already mostly in a mostly 15 minute city. I hate driving, being in traffic, having to go across the city for anything and avoid as much as possible. I find it stressful.

No one is stopping me from getting on a train or airplane, although there may be restrictions to flying in the future. But neither do I feel the need to get on a flight every 6 weeks. But rail travel is much more eco friendly, and people living in areas with good rail may not be affected that much, like EU for example.

Yes, it did occur to me that most of the news about Iran was fake when the Iranian govt allegedly released a "lego film". They would never do that in a serious situation.

So, yes, highly likely a psyop / false flag.

Flying with Emirates return , May 19th to June 19th , cheapest option , 31,140 . Best economy seats out there IMO.

I used to always fly non stop but now I'm 68 with a herniated disc , I just can't handle being in a seat for 12 straight hours.

As for the war , no recent reports of Dubai Airport being under attack plus they are allowing 1 free date change should a flight be cancelled. If the war does go on then fuel will start getting a lot more expensive to the point that it will not be worth wasting the money unless really necessary.

Just looked at my future flight Nice France to Bangkok return:

1300 € economy

4150 € buisness,

High season Dec to March.

Won’t stop me , the airport is 15 mins from home, no hassle.

I don't guess it has anything to do with the Euros funding Ukraine to kill Russkies so the Russkies closed their airspace to the Euro owned airlines?

Let's see... Who was President when Putin went into Ukraine? This time?

Edit: I would add that, if that same President hadn't loosened the stranglehold that Trump had imposed on the Iranian purse strings, they may not have been able to fund the nukes, the Houthis or Hamas... The world would look very different today.

I get an annual flight home as part of my employment package.

I do not use the flight so receive cash equivalent instead.

Hopefully the prices keep on rising !

I do believe that there will be much less indépendant tourists doing long haul. Europeans will stay closer to home. Plenty choice, beautiful beaches in Greece, Italy, Spain, France and the east countries are getting very popular and half the price apparently. There’s also Morocco that’s popular and other African countries not too far. Friends went to Zanzibar and the photos are beautiful. French hotels in Brittany, Normandy are advertising 150€ + off when you present your fuel bill.on tv today !!! Could be a quieter year for Thailand, or full of Chinese and Indian bus trips.

Booked in January for May......probably broke even on lost interest though
