If you overhear a stranger say something nasty about you or your girlfriend/wife through their misconception... regardless of whether she was a bar girl or not... how do you react? Do you ignore and walk away? Do you snap back with a devastating quip? Do you go forth and lay a punch right on the kisser? Do you make some nasty remark to them in retaliation? Or the guy they tied to a pole and beat to death in Utah, the kid they drug to death behind a pickup truck in Texas. Those kinda sound like they hurt. A lot. Of course, that *is* taking it a little past the "Sticks and Stones" in your post, but actions do come from attitudes, which are reflected in words. And, presumed guilt can really piss one off. If I go to Amsterdam I can in one city, visit the sex capital of Europe, visit the Diamond center of Europe, and visit any amount of museums with famous Dutch masters. If I go to Paris I can wonder why there are more coach tours at the “Moulin Rouge” (red light district) than at the Eiffel Tower. That India has the biggest red light district in the WORLD! If I have a Dutch, French or Indian girlfriend no one will question my or her motives. I have traveled through some of the non tourist areas of Thailand and fallen in love with the place, I wish when I speak positive of Thailand to my friends that some of them don’t give me that “knowing*” look. Bluecat, you speak with wisdom, but it's the old fasioned way of the English gentleman to punch a man who insults his girl. Unfortunately, these days you'd be prosecuted for assault.
