True story:

-Trump imposes a 50% tariff/tax on Canadian aluminium and starts buying from his new friends in the GCC area.

-Canada shrugs and starts selling their aluminium in Europe.

-Trumps starts a war with Iran. Iran starts hitting aluminium producers in the GCC area.

-The US imports around 60% of it's aluminium, and a lot of it comes from the GCC area.

-Canada is operating at full capacity, and both won't and can't switch back to supplying the US.

-US importers, who already pay more than other countries for aluminium, see their prices increase even further, which of course means American consumers pay more for basically everything.

This is what in plain speak is called a complete and utter s**t show, and the s**t show is produced by one person. Be sure to thank him, will ya!thumbsup

Trump tore up the former deal they had with Iran, a deal that was made by President Obama. Trump tore it up because he is an insecure little s**t who did it out of spite, malice and jealousy.

Now he's crying to reinstate the exact same deal. Someone send him to Tehran. He needs to go, now, alone.

https://www.jec.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/democrats/2026/2/new-data-during-trump-s-first-year-the-manufacturing-industry-lost-108-000-jobs

WASHINGTON – The Joint Economic Committee – Minority today released a new analysis showing that the manufacturing industry lost 108,000 jobs during the first year of President Trump’s second term. This new estimate shows that the manufacturing sector has lost even more than the 68,000 jobs that the Bureau of Labor Statistics previously estimated. The decline in manufacturing jobs occurred despite President Trump’s promise that he would create a “manufacturing boom” and his recent claim that the American economy is achieving the “best and strongest numbers.”

https://www.factcheck.org/2026/02/manufacturing-construction-spending-declines-under-trump/

Spending to build, expand and rehabilitate manufacturing sites in the U.S. has declined since President Donald Trump took office, according to U.S. Census Bureau data. Yet, Trump has repeatedly boasted that “factory construction” is up 41%.

At our request, the White House sent us a link to the Census Bureau’s manufacturing construction spending data via the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis’ online database known as FRED.

On a monthly basis, the Census Bureau shows a 7.3% decline in manufacturing construction spending last year under Trump from January through October, the most recent data available.

It's fascinating to me how his supporters constantly overestimate him, this very dim man would be incapable of playing a basic game of checkers. When they start talking about 4D chess that is absolute nonsense that comes from the constant wearing of rose tinted glasses, while sucking down gallons of Kool-Aid daily.

Just crickets from the administration on the war in Iran. But I'm sure everything is just fine. The war is won already, just mopping up to do, so why talk about it, right?

4D chess, indeed!😂

Oh Nick, Nick. If you wanna do well as a troll or a comedian you have to be smart. All the best comedians are smart, Nick, as are the funniest trolls.

Unfortunately, you're not smart, Nick. But we do value you as a person nonetheless.

You matter, Nick. Don't let anyone tell you differently!thumbsup

Trump continues to play 4D chess. Iran, after it's TOTAL military defat, is now able to extract more concessions from the US than before their TOTAL military defeat.

Don't worry, @Yagoda will be around shortly to explain this Trump win!

And this is why the world and their dog are bypassing US and going to China no-one likes a barely literate narciisistic loser and they are losing bigly under Donald J.Trump - even being beaten by some mad mullahs !!

Beijing has adopted a defensive stance, prioritising its own supplies. In a world as messy as ours, playing the role of adult is hard. It is far easier for Beijing to bide its time and to wait out the crisis, allowing the US to destroy its own credibility and Russia to become more and more dependent. Meanwhile, at events like the CDF, the participants, including representatives of the US, pontificate about “global geopolitical risks” as though they were natural disasters rather than the result of decisions made by the US and Israel.

But the choice lies with Beijing. The script for Chinese leadership is more or less writing itself.

And I asked China's Deep Seek for it's "views" ;

I think the article is an excellent piece of strategic analysis dressed as a provocation.

Tooze is correct that the US is, in his framing, actively destroying its own credibility and that this creates a vacuum. His blueprint is a logically coherent articulation of how China could use its structural power (financial reserves, supply chains, industrial policy) to fill that vacuum.

However, its weakness lies in treating China as a unitary, rational actor with infinite bandwidth. In reality, the Chinese Communist Party is deeply conservative on foreign policy, prioritizing stability, risk-aversion, and the survival of its own system above all else. The very "messiness" of the world that Tooze describes is currently an asset for China; it ties up the US, Russia, and Europe in conflicts while China builds its technological self-reliance.

The article’s value isn’t as a prediction of what China will do, but as a mirror held up to the West. It forces the reader to confront a stark question: if even a sympathetic, liberal analyst like Adam Tooze is sketching a plausible roadmap for Chinese hegemony, what does that say about the current state and future trajectory of American global leadership?
