Quan's journey began in Nghe An Province, Vietnam, where he attended the prestigious Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted. At the International Physics Olympiad in France, he was Vietnam's sole gold medalist and placed second globally in the practical exam. His success extended to the Asian Physics Olympiad and national competitions, showcasing his consistent excellence in physics.

This achievement has broader implications, as Quan plans to study Physics and Mechanical Engineering at MIT. Inspired by his great-grandmother's blindness, he aims to develop tools for the visually impaired, blending optical theories with practical engineering solutions. Quan's story mirrors other successful Vietnamese students, including Nguyen Manh Quan and Vo Hoang Hai, who also transitioned from Olympiad victories to MIT with significant financial aid.

Looking forward, Quan's admission to MIT comes with the promise of full financial support from the university, oriented towards families earning under $200,000 annually. MIT’s commitment to funding aligns with its status as a top educational institution, continuing to attract and support exceptional international students like Quan. His path exemplifies the potential for talented students from Vietnam and globally to access world-class education.
