One of 11 US military sites damaged or destroyed by Iran since Feb. 28

The war between the United States and Iran is burning through cash at a staggering pace — with analysts estimating the conflict is costing around $500 million every single day.

Research cited by the Financial Times suggests the five-week campaign launched by Donald Trump has already consumed between $22.3 billion and $31 billion. The strikes began on February 28 under the codename Operation Epic Fury and show no sign of slowing.

With the president threatening further escalation unless Tehran agrees to a ceasefire, the financial and strategic stakes are rapidly rising.

Think Tanks Put the Price Tag on War

Analysis from the American Enterprise Institute estimates tens of billions have already been spent on bombing runs, logistics and damaged equipment.

Senior fellow Elaine McCusker said at least $2.1 billion to $3.6 billion of that total may go toward replacing equipment damaged or destroyed in Iranian counter-strikes.

Meanwhile the Center for Strategic and International Studies calculates the daily cost of the campaign at roughly half a billion dollars — a pace that could push the war’s price tag dramatically higher if the fighting continues.

Damaged Ships, Drones and Radar Systems

The losses are not just financial — they are strategic.

Repairs are already required for the USS Gerald R. Ford after a damaging onboard fire. Iranian strikes have also hit a ballistic missile early-warning system in Qatar and damaged radar installations in Jordan.

Analysts warn that these systems are vital for detecting missile threats across the region.

“You cannot substitute them easily,” said CSIS missile defence expert Tom Karako.

Aircraft Losses and Human Toll Mount

Iranian forces have reportedly shot down multiple US aircraft, including drones and at least one F-15E fighter.

Additional losses have come from accidents and friendly fire, including three more F-15E jets and a crashed KC-135 tanker. Replacing those systems alone could cost hundreds of millions.

Thirteen US service members have been killed so far, with more than 370 injured.

Strategic Warning: China Watching Closely

Defence experts warn the real cost may be global.

With US surveillance systems damaged and military stockpiles depleted, analysts fear rivals such as China could view the conflict as a moment of American distraction.

Despite the strain, the Pentagon has already asked Congress for an additional $200 billion to sustain operations.

If approved, the war’s financial burden — already enormous — could surge even further.

Not a money thing. It's another attack on Trump. America, like the UK or Europe, have squandered trillions in it's previous disasters in Irak, Libya, Central an South America, to Ukraine and the jackpot in Afghanisthan. So nothing new here and it's plainly to attack Trump. Trump that of course is doing it all wrong like all the others, in supporting Israel. As America was drawn into war by israel and the entire world knows that.
