A Japanese tourist was allegedly duped, assaulted, and robbed by three suspects in a hotel room in Parañaque City on April 8. The victim, identified as Uri, 26, met one of the suspects through a dating app and agreed to a meeting. The situation escalated when the suspects allegedly assaulted Uri and demanded money.

Uri met a suspect named Riley via a dating app for a planned meetup. Riley arrived at the hotel with Justine and Kitty, and the encounter turned violent. The suspects allegedly stripped the victim and forced him to perform a sexual act before demanding cash. When Uri resisted, an alleged physical assault ensued, involving threats with a stun gun.

Justine was arrested after accompanying Uri to an ATM where the victim sought assistance. Uri discreetly signaled for help by typing “Please help me” on his phone, alerting a hotel receptionist. With the aid of a Japanese interpreter, hotel security and the police arrested Justine. However, the other suspects fled, taking approximately 200,000 yuan and P9,000 in cash.

Justine is in custody at the Parañaque police station facing robbery charges. Law enforcement has initiated a manhunt for Riley and Kitty. This case has highlighted concerns around security regarding dating app meet-ups. Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution and report suspicious activities immediately.

Looking forward, police efforts are concentrated on locating the remaining suspects. Increased awareness and caution are being advised for tourists and residents alike in Parañaque City.
