An Icelandair Boeing 757 flew at low altitude just above the town of Vestmannaeyjar.

In a video accompanying the report, filmed by Richard Bjarki Guðmundsson, the aircraft appears to be flying at an altitude of around 100 meters over the town.

The exact altitude remains unclear, but sources told mbl.is that residents were quite alarmed, with some fearing the plane was about to crash.

In an interview with mbl.is, Guðni Sigurðsson, Icelandair’s communications director, said the flight was captained by a pilot from Vestmannaeyjar who was flying his final flight.
