The demand for Australian grapes is rising in the Philippines as the 2025-2026 season begins. Jeff Scott, CEO of the Australian Table Grapes Association, recently launched the new season in Taguig, highlighting the early availability of varieties like Autumn Criso, Midnight Beauty, Sunrise Red, and Sweet Sapphire. These grapes are noted for their health benefits, including high potassium and Vitamin C content.

Scott reflected on the growth of the Philippine market, which was once underdeveloped. He attributes the surge to strong retailer and consumer relationships, commenting on the rapid knowledge and demand among Filipino consumers. The Philippines, alongside South Korea, is now emerging as a major challenger to Japan for Australian grape exports.

Jesse White, International Marketing Manager, emphasized the importance of the Philippine market, expressing gratitude to retail partners and importers. He admired the country’s enthusiastic food culture and the curiosity of Filipinos to explore new flavors. This development coincides with the upcoming celebration of 80 years of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Australia, marking a significant bilateral milestone.
