A 23 year veteran DC Metropolitan Police lieutenant and former first openly gay chairman of the DC Police Union has been arrested in Maryland on charges of sexual solicitation of a minor and child pornography. What makes this especially disturbing is that the accused worked in special operations, providing security for the President and Vice President.

"The 23-year Metropolitan Police Department veteran even shared a picture of him in DC police uniform sitting in his cruiser, according to charging documents viewed by the outlet".

"The creepy cop was unconcerned about making his identity known to the imposter teen, revealing he was a DC police lieutenant with 23 years on the job and worked in the special-events branch, according to the MPD".

So has the boy been one year older at 16 it would of been ok ,well depending what country you come from...so it's possible hr thought he was 16'perhaps

The age of consent in MD is 16 which surprised me. I figured it was 18.

Somehow this seems very appropriate for American politics at the national level. Very likely that some of the people he was protecting have engaged in similarly depraved acts. America is the land of fake puritanism after all.

I find it heinous to prey on the young especially while wearing a badge . And the accused was not hiding the fact .

NB Just to note there WAS NO 15 year old boy. It was a sting operation.

According to charging documents, Mahl met who he thought was a 15-year-old boy on reddit and began a sexually explicit series of text exchanges that lasted for several weeks during which time Mahl allegedly sent sexually explicit pictures of himself to who he thought was the boy. In fact, it was a Harford County sheriff’s deputy.
