Best Sunday roast on the Dark Side?

Featured Replies

I used to like Murphy's on Kao Noi, but wasn't impressed with the food last time I went so want to try somewhere new, either on Kao Noi or Kao Talo, don't want to drive to Mabrachan.

Recommendations please.

Khao Noi Sports Bar and Restaurant

Sorry to bring in another version but my mate did a review of the best roasts in Bangkok and here’s his top 5.

  1. Royal Oak

  2. Old English

  3. Ekhamai Beer House

  4. Robin Hood

  5. Mulligans

Debate. All opinions welcome.

I went one Sunday to the Sportsman Pub for the roast , what a bunch of obese slobs in there all clambering around a tiny table loading their plates with ultra dry lamb and roast beef.

You might be getting your restaurants mixed up. KN Sports bar is not the Sportsman Pub (which is near the beach).

And a tiny table??

The best sunday roast on darkside is paddy's at maprachan ......i like it very much ,,

many venues offering sunday roasts available in pattaya the potatos are not properly roasted , gravy is thin and some have dire meat or crackling that breaks teeth i have tried all the usual suspects over the years some are Ok some are rubbish

Gravy is my pet complaint. Most of the Sunday Roasts I've tried in Pattaya and Jomtien use powdered gravy mix, distinct in it's flavor and texture and seem to ladle the same mix on everything, be it beef, lamb, pork or chicken. Good gravy needs drippings, stock and some skill. You don't get drippings from microwave warmed, food service roasts.

Yes Dave spot on mate , gravy can make or break a good roast

Khao Noi Sports Bar

Great value and the plates are piled high.

Gravy is made properly, no powdered stuff

Went today at 1.00pm, there were a lot of bookings so only the chicken left, so it probably pays to book. The food was very good, too much so ended up with a doggy bag. The apple crumble and icecream was delish. Will definitely go again.

Roast Beef at 12.00 was lush.

Agreed on the crumble and ice cream.

Beef can be a bit hit and miss in Thailand, can be as tough as old boots.
