Five foreign restaurant workers in Nha Trang, Vietnam, narrowly escaped a fire on April 29 by climbing through a side window. The blaze occurred around 7 a.m. on Nguyen Thien Thuat Street when a wall-mounted TV caught fire, quickly engulfing the single-story building in smoke.

The workers, trapped by a jammed rolling front door, gathered their belongings and exited through a window over 2 meters high. Responding promptly, Khanh Hoa Provincial Police deployed two fire trucks and several officers to control the situation, breaking through the door to assess damage.

Initial reports suggest the fire began due to a television short circuit, scorching one corner of the wall. Fortunately, the restaurant was closed at the time, and workers escaped with only minor scratches.

Owned by a Vietnamese national, the restaurant employs foreign workers who speak English and Russian, living on the premises. Nguyen Thien Thuat Street, part of Nha Trang’s vibrant tourist area, attracts many foreign visitors, especially from Russia.

As the investigation progresses, authorities continue to examine the exact cause of the fire. Safety measures and further inspections might be considered for similar venues to prevent future incidents.
