UnknownPoster
On 27 January 2007, he Department of Civil Aviation declined to renew the airport's safety certificate, which expired the previous day. The ICAO requires that international airports hold aerodrome safety certificates, but Suvarnabhumi will continue to operate because the ICAO requirement has yet to be adopted as part of Thai law. danone
nothing over here holds a safety certificate. thats one of those funny foreign things. no need for safety certificates over here.
lomatopo
Is anyone able to find a list of international airports which hold the coveted aerodrome safety certificates? I am under the impression that many airports do not have such certification. Airlines employ risk management and insurance professionals and UA/NW, as the only two U.S. carriers to operate their own aircraft into Thailand, would not be flying into BKK if there were undue risks. Same goes for the major European carriers.
brahmburgers
it's like the UL (Underwriters Labratory) in the U.S. which tests all things electrical - I doubt there's anything remotely like that here in Thailand. or, for that matter, Consumer Reports magazine, also from the U.S. - which published scientific reports on all types of consumer products. Boy, that type of research would be nice to see here.
