We are looking for some places to take our two year old twin girls. They are getting tired of the local "waterfall", what would be great is if anybody knows of an adventure playground type place. Failing that anything entertaining would be a great help.

thanks in advance

I suppose the most popular day out in Chiang Rai is Big C.

after that

Swimming at Rimkok resort ( members 30 swims@ 1500)

or 80 baht a time.

The local stadium ,

Santanee housing and Chiang Rai sportsclub also popular for swimming.

Play and practise golf at The Old Airport. Here you have a very good Driving Ranch and also a 9-hole golfcourse. You can find one of the best teachers in golf here, Barry Finch. And when you are hungry there is a hamburger restaurant.

Cycling.

Bowling:

Near Sriburin hospital.

Tennis and sport also available at the sports stadium and at the sports area on the area( name?)

Fishing:

I know not all are suitable for young kids but it's a start and maybe others will have additional ideas.

Invite some friends over (two year old friends) give them a hose (or two) and have them take turns watering the garden....and each other....it'll be a riot!!!!

Maybe focusing on activities would be a good alternative to focusing on traveling....or combine both...for instance maybe take some paper and colored pencils with you to the water fall and you can draw...something like that....do you think they could hold a camera steady enough to take some pictures.....soon they will be!!!....cheap cameras are really cheap these days and digital ones don't incur the expense of films and development.

Thanks for the suggestions. Zoo, swimming and Golf (ok thats for me) will add some flavour to the weekends. Chownah thanks for the ideas, we have several very nice murals recently added - unfortunately the girls forgot to draw on paper first. The hose is already a favourite but the camera idea is a really good one.
