Are you interested in 1953 Geishas?

Featured Replies

Or, just as importantly, are you interested in classically beautiful cinematography?

If so, here is a gem which might interest you...

Don't thank me.

Thank Japanese/Kyoto culture....of a sadly lost era when life was better all the time.

Nevermind cinematograpy. I could Google it, but surely you can enlighten me: Was/is the Geisha concept strictly for spiritual enlightenment or just another form of prostitution for an elite that could/can pay for it?

I liked that Disney movie

If you mean the film linked in this Topic, then I must agree: Excellent

The Japanese directors in the 1950s, early 1960s, and their B/W films produced art.

Something missing today.

Here is two minutes of another amazing Japanese film from that era: Twenty-Four Eyes......

Maybe I should find a link to the full film and post it here...

If you wish an answer, then just watch the entire film I linked in this Topic.

That's what it's here for, after all.

The film is very worth watching.
