Mistakes are bound to happen in the fog of war, the US has very little experience with operations like this, they have not won a war of any consequence in 81 years, they're already running low on munitions and the expense of this war is up to a billion dollars a day so far. That is money that the cash strapped US just doesn't have to spend. But Don doesn't mind because the idea of adding to the US deficit means nothing to him, he won't be around anyway, and he cares not one iota for the well-being of the average American.

Nobody knows where this war is going to lead, but it was dangerous, it was reckless, it was unnecessary, it could end up lasting years and costing trillions of dollars, and the end result could be another Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Algeria or Egypt, just a few of the misadventures that the US has gotten themselves involved in, in the past few decades.

It might have been better to just let Israel do a surgical strike of the nasty Ayatollahs building, taking him and some top officials out, and letting it play out that way.

But Trump does not like clean and simple, he prefers messy and very expensive, that's just who he is.

It doesn't make sense that Trump is truly as reckless and ignorant as he appears to be.

There has to be an agenda of some sort. Trump is not making these decisions he is simply a puppet doing the bidding of a higher power such as the Deep State. There are countless possibilities, one is to completely destroy the world economy, thereby reducing the dollar to pennies, and creating an ability to pay off the US debt for a fraction of its current amount. Along that line of thinking it could have been the Deep State that started covid, hoping that would do the job, and it certainly could be the Deep State that is starting this level of economic destruction.

The other scenario is that this is just simply a bid for possession of Iran's oil, much the same as what appears to be the case in Venezuela, if the US were to control the oil of Iran and Venezuela that's about a third of the world supply.

Of course that will never work, but when you have guys as naive, ignorant and mindless as Trump, Miller, Hegseth, Graham and some of these other nitwits, what they believe really doesn't matter does it?

Any other guesses as to why they started this war? Democracy building, regime cha ge, and nuclear weapons simply don't count, they are already completely invalidated reasons.

Am I the only one that finds these daily threats rather boring and somewhat lacking in creativity? Trump sure seems like a one-trick pony. There's no nuance in his game and he never has a plan B, even when plan A has already failed. That in and of itself is a sign of a real absence of intelligence.

It's so typical Trumpian, and particularly embarrassing to Marco Rubio. Rubio was channeling the pregnant suck-up Leavitt, playing WH Spokesperson. He spent nearly 2 hours praising "Operation Freedom". A mere 90 minutes after Rubio said such positive things about it, Trump called it off. The reason was not the lie Trump told about "Iran is saying many good things". No, with a free press exercising its 1st Amendment rights, the truth is laid bare and Trump adds to his massive collection of lies.

As it turns out, the Trump clown car show did not inform any of the US' supposed allies in the Middle East it was going to do the operation. Iran responded as anyone who actually understands Iran--which rules out Trump and all of his Carnival People---knew it would respond: Iran fired some missiles and sent some drones to nations aiding the US war, which in this instance was the UAE. (A leak from the US intel community says Iran still has up to 70% of it missiles and launchers, so Trump's wild claim of having destroyed them all is but another lie.)

All major US media, including the Wall Street Journal, NYT and NBC, are now reporting the following:

Almost immediately Saudi Arabia and Kuwait closed their airspace to US aircraft as well as access to US Bases in those countries (to initiate attacks on Iran). That took much of the US military out of the conflict, should attacks resume. The US would be limited to sea-based systems it has in or near the Gulf, and would have no refueling capability for aircraft. Thus, Trump had to do what he does best: taco. Operation Freedom was called off.

The Saudi and Kuwaiti actions says a lot about what they now think of Trump, the US, and the war of choice Trump started. Yes, nobody likes Iran, but neither Saudi nor Kuwait---nor likely Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain and Oman---wanted to pay any price for Trump and Netanyahu's war. They had been under the silly assumption allying with the US and allowing bases in their nation would keep them safe. They were not informed of the war before it started, and they have learned since the war started the US is incapable of keeping them safe. They were sold a Bill of Goods regarding the effectiveness of THAAD and Patriot systems, which are hardly 100% effective.

Saudi already had refinery facilities hit. Same with Kuwait. Qatar has had major damage to its LNG production capability. This destruction will be years in bringing things back to pre-war status.

The Gulf nations also seem to see Trump has no plan, has ever changing goal posts, and the absolute best that could come out of his war is a return to the status quo ante of the JCPOA, which Trump tossed because Obama had done it.

I suspect even now-former Gulf allies view the overall war as somewhere between Epic Failure and Epstein Fury.

Fresh from his latest failure, expect Trump to go back to talking about the now-USA Taxpayer funded ballroom, or his "beautiful gold curtains", or his "acing" of multiple cognitive tests, or the ongoing lie about how 2020 was stolen, or just go after political opponents using his "Dept of Retribution", which was once proudly known as the Department of Justice.
