Proof of address for claiming UK pension

Featured Replies

My private pension with the Pru is soon to reach the selected retirement date and I'm doing some research to hopefully get things done with the minimum of stress. One issue could be proof of address here in Thailand. I'd appreciate knowing about what you have used successfully as proof of address and what if any was rejected.

Thanks in advance

Within the last 6 months for a UK provider I gave them scanned copies of the following -

Pension statement from another provider with Thai address

SCB printed and stamped statement showing address in English - I had to get that set up in the branch.

Offshore bank statement showing address

Screenshot of my HMRC account page showing the address

Thai driving license - has most of my Thai address in English.

True Internet bill - which showed my name and part of address in English and supported the other docs.

I provided the lot hoping that some of it would be acceptable. They had previously agreed to scanned copies other than actual hard copy but some providers may not be as flexible.

They didn't specifically accept or reject a document so no idea if they didn't like any of them. The administrators were WillisTowersWatson.

My private pension company insisted on doing a UK credit check on my UK address before paying out. I gave them my UK address from 10+ years back and it worked.
