Visa Exempt to Non-O -

Featured Replies

Realized yesterday I can do a visa-exempt 60-day trip to Non-O, still in the window to do it. At Changwattana

I've got the list from immigration as to what we need, managed to dig out all the original marriage papers as well. We appear to have everything apart from photos to print out of the family around the house and outside, etc.

Any curveballs I should anticipate at immigration? The bank part says the letter should be issued for the day of the appointment - do banks post-date the proof letter or is this do an an afternoon appointment and go to the bank in the morning?

How long does it usually take to process?

For bank docs, you require three things.

3 month bank statement

Bank Letter.

Update bb

The first two can be done days previous to appointment.

Update must be done on day of application.

Do you have a Thai bank account in your name only. Which bank.

You use form TM87 along with required docs.

You will require minimum 15 days on stamp when you apply for Non O

Cheers - Siam for the bank, will transfer money over today, but it;s our regular account for incoming funds, when i'm away working.

The appointment I booked just now online is not at CW then? They had one afternoon slot available next week for visa changing and type. Or is that the VFS centre for the stamp itself?

What do you mean by... "it's our regular account"?

The bank account must be in your name only.

For some reason to link to thread I posted above you need to paste into browser

Sorry it is my account, in my name.

Good.

For the 12 month extension you need to season the 400k for two months prior to application.

If you need extra time to organize you could apply for 60 day extension to visit Thai wife

CW Immigration will issue the Non O stamp once your application has been approved.

Be aware, it takes approx 15 days to approve the Non O application and 30 days to approve the 1 year extension application.

CW Immigration will issue the Non O stamp once your application has been approved.

So the application is submitted at IT Square (due to the exempt entry) and the stamp finally done at CW? Presumably that renders the appointment he's made at CW of no value?

15 days is fine - I'm here for a few months, was going to go to Laos, and get non-O but if I can do it here and not have to mess about in airports, I will.

I'm confused on the IT Square thing - where do I find that referenced?

Does Mrs Bumbling have to accompany me?

No disrespect intended but you seem to be living up to your moniker 😮

Even though you came in visa exempt you'd apply for the Non-O visa in Bangkok at the main office at the gov't complex building B, Section C-1 you would NOT do anything at IT Square Laksi Plaza.

You can get the bank statement and bank letter up to 7 days ahead of your application but you need to update the bank book the day you apply for the visa

You need a minimum of 15 days left on your current visa exempt entry (or the 30 day extension from it) to apply for the in country Non-O visa because there's a 2 week under review period before you go back to get the visa inked in

You show up at Chaengwattana get a queue for section C-1, apply, pay the 2000 baht, get a receipt that says come back on xxx date (2 weeks out) to get the "results" and on that day you go back to section C-1, they ink in the Non-O visa and a new 90 day stamp.

IF you're wanting to make an appt to apply for that Non-O you want THIS choice at Chaengwattana (and yes it's just for one person because only YOU need the visa 😉

You seem casual about the "15 days is fine"

With a 60 day visa exempt entry you need to act quickly to obtain the Non O.

Regards IT square that's for 30 day extension to visa exempt stamp.

Doesn't concern you unless you need time to organize for the Non O

Cheers - will do all the bank stuff next week, update the pass book in the morning one final time. Will have around 21 days from the appointment next week.

Worst case its off to Laos or HCM.

Chronic procrastination is a pain to live with - really should have sorted this out weeks ago.

You will get the Non O at immigration.

Just note that for obtaining eVisa in Laos you need to pay application fee at embassy/consulate.

Vietnam you can pay online.

I haven't visited HCM either, so it's quite tempting. I understand the turnaround is quite prompt there as well.

I'm probably Saigons #1 fan.

So it's a no brainer in my mind.

You possibly are visa exempt to Vietnam.

Edit: I see you are UK pp, so yes visa exempt for Vietnam
