He is making the fanatical government of the Islamic Republic of Iran a more sympathetic entity than the current government of the (not-so) United States of America. "Many people are saying" nobody could have done that. Hold my cheeseburger, I suspect Trump said.

Trump's constant silly statements, his woeful ignorance of reality, his absurd bluster, his poor planning or even no planning at all, his total lack of concern for the hardships his actions have unleashed on the entire world, his vile threat of genocide....all that has made Trump---and I dare say the US---an international pariah. As bad as the Ayatollah's regime is, Trump and the US now look at least as bad, and in many people's eyes, possibly worse.

His war of choice accomplished a sum total of nothing positive. Zero. Nada. Zifir (in the predominant language of the Middle East).

On the other hand, the list of negatives Trump and his dog handler Netanyahu have wrought is long and growing.

--Crude oil that was mid $50/bbl is beginning this Monday > $110/bbl

--The Strait of Hormuz has been squeezed to a drip

--Thousands of innocent human beings in Iran, Lebanon and the Gulf states are dead

--168 elementary schoolgirls are dead (mothers around the planet think of their own daughters, not the "dust" Iran still has)

--LNG and crude facilities in the Gulf are damaged and will require years to be brought back up to February 27, 2026 speed

--US military bases in the Gulf are now simply targets, but are otherwise unusable (runways precisely hit by Iran)

--US weapons inventory is likely at a decade low, and such weapons and systems require years to produce

--Worldwide inflation is on the rise, likely to keep climbing, and is putting a strain on 8.5 billion people--and EVERYONE in the world knows who is responsible

--the entire population of the Gulf is threatened with retaliation---such as obliterating desalination plants---if Trump continues his aggression

--Iran, as well as other nations across the globe, are likely MORE intent on gaining nuclear capability, to be just like and just as "safe" as North Korea

--The US probably has fewer true allies today than at anytime since its founding 250 years ago

--The US deficit, which requires foreigners to fund at least a quarter of it, is soaring and will soar additionally as Trump says he needs another $500 billion for his War Department (that would make the US War Budget larger than the next 44 nations combined)

--the world is, at minimum, drifting into Recession, and possibly into Depression

None of this was necessary, especially since nothing positive was achieved. It was 100% an "own goal". Iran is still in the nuke game. Iran was out of the nuke game from 2015 due to Obama's successful JCPOA, but re-entered the game when Trump tore up what was working. All the death, all the destruction, all the waste, all the angst, all the economic calamity, all the building hatred of the US sits solely in the tiny hands of Donald J Trump, an absolutely incompetent moron led by the nose due to his own weakness and Netanyahu's criminal psychopathy.

It's a sad fact that there is no IQ cut-off for voting privilege, so somehow people chose a mendacious convicted felon and civilly convicted sex offender with psychopathic tendencies and full of willful ignorance. Sane and rational people did vote, but I think you know how willfully ignorant the average American is, and in 2024 they were a slight majority.

That being said, the old coot did set a precedent in terms of doing a Maduro-style Grab & Go. I think the special forces of France, Germany and South Korea have the skill to relieve the US of Trump, and they would have the thanks of a grateful nation---at least 70%---and likely 99.9% applause from the rest of the civilized world.

If it is okay for one nation to remove the leader of another sovereign nation, neither Trump nor MAGAs have any moral authority to complain.

On the other hand, I would prefer he stays where he is to enjoy the full scale of the destruction he has wrought, so that when the Grim Reaper comes to send him far far "south", he will be bathed in abject shame and utter scorn. He will have been largely, almost solely responsible, for the coming worldwide Recession/Depression. The last thing he will hear before passing will be continual chants of "LOSER LOSER LOSER".

In China last week, Xi told him "elegantly" to his face he is a loser, but the Narcissist in him was still enough to have him try to pass his own failure on to Biden. With the coming Depression, even he will not be able to remain oblivious to his own responsibility. He will spend his final moments broken, shattered and in deep emotional pain...as he fully deserves.

And then, perhaps in a generation or two, the US can rejoin the family of nations, tail between its legs, kind of a neo UK or Spain or other has been power.
