At what age did =you= begin consuming manufactured garbage?

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

In recent years, we have increasingly become aware of the deleterious effects of consuming manufactured garbage (some might say manufactured foods).

And so, I am wondering about the correlation between the age of beginning consumption of manufactured foods and the expression of cancer in our human bodies.

Fortunately for me, at least I would say that it is fortunate, I have never consumed garbage…

I was lucky in the draw:

I was born early enough to escape the manufactured ultra-processed foods that JUST MIGHT be leading to increased risk for developing various types of cancer.

So, then, what about you?

When did you begin consuming garbage instead of food?

You see…..and here is the thing:

I was born before the age of garbage food.

Also, I left the USA, around the year 1979, pretty much before garbage food had become so pervasive in the USA.

I have never been exposed to garbage food.

After leaving the USA, I lived in lands that were not developed enough to import these garbage food products from major USA corporations.

I never frequented garbage food franchises, either.

Once in a dog’s age, I might have had a Whopper, pre-2000, in Taipei.

But, very infrequently.

Therefore, I have never been exposed to the ultra-processed foods of many in my my age group.

But, what about YOU?

Have you kept your body as pristine as have I???

Our bodies are our temples, for sure.

Just asking …..

Best regards,

Gamma

Note: My body is my temple, and hence…I do NOT partake of ultra-processed food from major USA corporations that seek to provide ….whatever it is that they might provide.

My body is my temple:

Think of me as a genius Adonis....if will....

a. My body is both pristine and perfect.

b. I am genius enough to have avoided ultra-processed food, all of my life.....

c. GENIUS + Adonis-Like: Please think of me in this way.....

Yes, you must be a prime human specimen of perfection after consuming decades of the famously pristine Asian diet, saturated in enough sugar, salt, mono-saturated seed oils high in Omega 6, exhaust fumes, pesticide residue, paraquat soaked vegetables, mystery market meat, and recycled street wok grease to preserve a tractor engine, all of which have apparently elevated you into a flawless physical being untouched by the horrors of modern Western scientifically engineered food.

Meanwhile the rest of us poor poisoned mortals were foolishly consuming the occasional processed cheese sandwich while missing out on the path toward becoming a self proclaimed genius Adonis ranting online about Whoppers in Taipei and the spiritual purity of the human digestive tract. Truly inspiring stuff.

I agree with you more than you know, and how could I NOT agree with you....???

So many years with my nostrils full of BLACK SOOT just from walking around Taipei in it's heyday....?

But, .......there is nothing to be done....now....because.....

The damage to my body of living in Taiwan during the years of Taiwan's development has already been done.....and so....

Let us just listen to this great band in order to memorialize the damage done.....

I have lived in many polluted cities.

I loved living there in polluted cities, including Yokohama, too.....

One cannot ALSO live one's life AND wear a mask, from birth, in Asia....CAN ONE?

Most likely, just living in Asia, I have reduced me lifespan by about 7 to 20 years.

Nobody Knows, and NOBODY CAN Know.....

Still, I think I will outlive this FAT Tattooed Guy.....

Singing this song to you.......

We all are it as kids. The question really is when did you stop? I myself a coke is a once a year thing. Pizza a few times a year. I've never eaten at McDonald's in E. Asia in my life outside of HKG. What foulness. KFC maybe three times as burger king once or twice.

I don't eat health food - I eat healthy. Not had greens in awhile, I go get a big lunch of greens, have wife cook up pak boong or asparagus. Eat salads. Make quick wraps use lettuce not bread

My impression is never for the typical farangy

Looking at what farang eat on Sukhumvit, post on X and especially what they cook and post here much is quite unhealthy, fattening and junky.

I think the bulk of foreigners don't like vegetables and as said before practically allergic to rice and Asian food. They often complain about cuts of meat. Fair enough, go into a restaurant and get better. Surely your gf can cook up something.

I feel sad for any farang that does share meals with their Thai counterpart. They eat some bland junk while she eats a proper meal. Like that...

Yes.

Nobody likes vegetables.

Humans are Meat Eaters.

Sometimes, though, some of us choose to eat a few carrots, from time to time.

I would think with the billions of sales of veggies worldwide daily, some do like them.

I love veggies. especially baked, roasted and mashed potatoes, eggplant, squash of many varieties, asparagus, salad greens, corn on the cob and creamed, spinach, sweet potatoes, local veggies in Thailand, onions, many varieties of rice, especially sweet ones, cauliflower, broccoli, peas, green and yellow beans, beans, Jersey and other tomatoes, brussels sprouts, peppers of all colors, mushrooms of all types, and yes, carrots.

How can you pass these up, especially in all the ways to prepare them? Meat is great, but it always needs an accompaniment.

I blame my downward spiral of consuming garbage food on drugs. Damn entry level drug, alcohol, clouds one's judgement.

Start consuming chips, Slim Jims, after midnight munchies of hot dogs, spicy Italian sausage. Although back then, maybe healthier than today's version.

Move up to weed, and start eating healthier, cheesesteaks & pizzas, though maybe because working and finances are better.

Then the tobacco corps take over food industry, and you find yourself addicted to Cinnamon Toast Crunch, instead of Eggs & Scrapple for brekkie, as you become a 'working class hero' with no time to eat healthier.

Till you had enough and "Imagine" a world without all the BS, because you know you've always been the Fool on the Hill, and no longer want to be in the game, a clog in the machine.

So retire to TH, to your Shangri la and start eating whole foods, and take control of your life.

Then you join AN, and realize you're mirroring GG, and contemplate suicide, as people, the damn trolls just won't leave you alone ...
