Yes, the outbreak is real with ~750 suspected cases and 82 confirmed cases in central Africa which has been classified at an epidemic in the drc. Not an epidemic outside of the drc and not a pandemic. But the media bubble has gotten you frightened into another scaredemic as usual.

The issue here is to contain it before it becomes a pandemic. What's wrong about informing the world about a real and possible threat?

Can you explain how this is considered racist? I would appreciate a detailed and reasoned response.

The underlying issue is that the African continent struggles to take care of itself.

That’s quite a leap of correlation.

Bunk. The United States is not the world savior. Other nations can step up.

Most other Western nations already spend more for aid than the US did before Trump 2.0. as a % of GDP.

Add to it the increase of defense budgets in NATO countries, plus the impact of Trump tariffs and of the Iran special operation on their economy. There is simply no other extra funding available.

Not guaranteed anymore. More and more of the GOP are defecting. They are sick and tired of Trump's antics. Plus they are being cautious with the coming elections just around the corner.

It is about time they show some courage and resist the daily nonsense. It would appear the goon is so drunk with power he can no longer draw the line on anything. So, this is a positive development. Trump is flailing and everything he touches fails. Every promise he made has been broken, except for some success closing off the borders.

Trump gets an F grade, so far this term. He is an utter failure. Best for them to distance themselves from the orange garbage man.

Mr. Trumpflation.

Disaster Don.

History will not be kind to this clown.

This is a subset of a much larger picture related to the maga fascist Trump regime cutting USAID. The percentage of the federal budget of USAID was very tiny yet reaped massive benefits in international soft power and saved lives.

Yes, there were a small number of programs within USAID that deserved to be cut and some corruption that needed to be cleaned up.

But talk about throwing out the baby with the bath water!

I truly think that Trump on top of his corruption, incompetence, and idiocy is an evil man.

Was this the USA required to continue these incredibly beneficial programs? No. But they SHOULD have. That's what a decent responsible nation would have done. Under Trump, the USA has becoming remarkably INDECENT.

Recent estimates suggest that the cuts to USAID could lead to more than 14 million preventable deaths globally by 2030, including over 4 million children under five. The immediate impact has already resulted in approximately 600,000 deaths within the first year of the cuts, primarily affecting vulnerable populations.

Well since Sany Abacha stole 3-5 billion US in his short time as Nigeria's dictator in chief

perhaps it would be more efficient for the UK to pay reparations direct

to their Swiss accounts !

Because of European colonialsim

They may have done some despicable deeds. But just about every country that was once colonized by the Europeans is better off than the countries next door that weren't. They have roads and rails and airports and hospitals and seaports and buildings, as opposed to dirt paths and grass huts.

Not to mention natives that kill each other more than the Europeans ever did. The problem with many of the former colonies is that they have failed miserably to maintain what the Euros left behind. In a lot of native languages of Africa, there is no word for "maintenance".

I was labeled a "racist" when I mentioned this in another blog.
