You illustrate why it is understandable for Trump to now want to go for Obama (and why this pattern will unfortunately repeat in US politics rather than remain confined to third-world countries ). Trump didn't start this lawfare thingy. The vicious circle was set in motion by his opponents who were prepared to do anything to prevent him from being elected.

The concentration of legal actions in 2023–2024 (right as Trump was running again) was widely seen as the most effective aspect of the lawfare strategy by both supporters and opponents. It kept the focus on his legal troubles rather than policy for much of the cycle. Plus it kept him court when he should have been campaigning. but he still won!!

Not to mention the fact, in this particular case, that the preliminary investigation findings under Obama have been later confirmed and extended by the Mueller investigation and the GOP-led Senate Committee investigation.

They make it complex on purpose, in order to confuse people, because they have nothing. Trump and the GOP claimed they had evidence on several occasions, and it usually led nowhere or had been contradicted by facts. Just to name a few: the Big Lie, the GOP House committee investigation into Joe Biden (remember FD-1023), the investigations into Comey and James, etc...
