The old RSS feeds (that were working until a couple of weeks ago) were excellent because they provided an instant snapshot of the latest replies on scattered threads. I could see the latest exciting discussion in the finance forum and the latest hard-hitting reply in the immigration forum.

The new RSS feeds only offer the title of new feeds and only on news stories. I don't need an RSS for that because I can easily look at the website for it. What was the philosophy behind the change?

Keep the new but please offer the old feeds again and expand them.

RSS feeds can place additional load on forum resources because feed readers and bots continually poll the site for updates. For example, if 10,000 subscribers check a feed every 15 minutes, that can generate up to 960,000 requests per day. Disabling RSS reduces this automated traffic and preserves resources and thereby stabalizes the platform for active users.
