We finally agree on something. I thought it would never happen. Maintenance costs for the f-35 are prohibitive. Only a fool or somebody trying to kiss Trump's ass would buy them. Same reason I won't b

Are you disputing millions of Americans are struggling to put food on the table and a roof over their heads?

I really want to hear about your experiences of living in the USA. Anyway, you should worry about your own dying country.

Nah, not your neighborhood and I don’t want to trigger your envy thing.

There is no way you would trigger any envy in me. Frankly, you are envious of the USA from across the pond.

Buddy, can you spare a dime? How about $40,000,000,000,000?

This is before the drunkard asked for another $500,000,000,000 to fund his boss' Forever War.

If you paid attention, you would know the major driver of the debt is the social programs.

They want that. More to steal and fund terrorists.

Gripen E will be better at intercepting long range bombers and reconnaissance aircraft than F-35 over the atlantic.

Part of the deal is to build jets in Canada to export to Ukraine. The deal also talks about 12500 or so jobs created. And 6 globaleye surveillance jets.

Your knowledge about my political beliefs are as flawed as your moral compass.

As its Governor, he stick-handled the large G7 economy through the disasterous Brexit period to limit the damage to the economy and the currency as best he could. As Bank of Canada Governor, his strategies (and Canada's chatered banking system) protected the country's banks against fallout from the disaterous sub-prime fiasco south of the border.

Speaking as a citizen of the Great White North, and a card carrying conservative, I have to say that he did a very good job as Bank of Canada head. A very wise appointment by PM Harper. To be honest, I was worried that his time in Europe had tainted him and "Davos-ified" him. But so far, he has done a better job as PM than I expected.

Drill baby drill!!

Canada currently operates CF-18 based on a Navy fighter. Why? Canada is the second largest country in the world and needs aircraft with range. Naval aircraft usually have better range.

Gripen has a range more than 600 miles better than F-35. 600 miles is a drop for Canada but it is still more.

I don't really care, as long as they buy SOMETHING and soon. THis project has been masturbating for more than a decade, with no tangible results. It is embarrassing really.

1980s just called they want the boogeyman back.

Swedish planes come with a manufacturing agreement and cost much less.

US planes are a money drain into the excited states of america.

Next:

Korean Submarines I hope, it's between the Germans and Koreans and they both also offer joint manufacturing and lots of secondary investments. Car factories, missile joint ventures.

Artillery systems, tanks,

The us offers nothing except high prices and closed manufacturing

Their days of being the worlds arms producers and coming to an end

Even Canada could beat them with what little you have.

I would lean towards the Kims. They already proved that their boat can cross the Pacific, and they are more serious about their military than the Germans are about theirs, sad to say.

On a different note, I am happy that Japan is starting to sell their gear as well. Oz is buying some Japanese destroyers- the Mogami Class. They are mean and nasty ships, give the Chicoms nightmares!
