Couple Forced Teens into Karaoke Brothel in Sattahip

Featured Replies

Police in Sattahip, Chonburi, have arrested a former husband and wife for running a karaoke venue where two 16-year-old girls were forced into prostitution. The arrests took place on 2 June 2026, following an investigation by the Central Investigation Bureau’s Anti-Human Trafficking Division (ECD). Officers also rescued two teenage victims, identified only as Ms A and Ms B, who are now receiving welfare protection and psychological rehabilitation.

The victims told police that in 2024, when they were just 15 years old, they were invited to travel to Pattaya. They were then persuaded to work at a karaoke shop in Sattahip district. The male suspect, Mr Niwat, aged 37, drove them to the venue in a pickup truck. The karaoke shop operated from 5pm until 3am, sometimes staying open until dawn depending on customers.

Inside the air-conditioned shop, customers used coin-operated karaoke machines. The process for buying sex involved drinking first, then negotiating a fee. Customers paid the female suspect, Ms Skulnacha, aged 43, either by bank transfer or cash at the shop. Victims were then taken to a nearby resort to provide sexual services.

Each transaction cost the customer 1,500 baht, of which 300 baht went to the shop and the victims kept 1,200 baht. Ms Skulnacha collected the money and paid it as monthly wages at the end of each month, with an additional 200 baht deducted for utilities.

Police discovered that both suspects had previously been arrested for human trafficking. Despite having separated, they remained in the Sattahip area, with Ms Skulnacha still running the same karaoke shop. Officers arrested her at the premises in Moo 4, Sattahip subdistrict.

Of more than 20 staff checked, all were over 18. Mr Niwat was not present initially but was captured after police staked out the shop late that night when he arrived to check on it.

Thaitabloid reported that Ms Skulnacha confessed to all charges. Mr Niwat denied the allegations, claiming that although he found girls and transported them to work at the shop, he did not know prostitution took place there. Both have been handed to investigators at ECD Division 2 for further legal action.

Very similar to the farang operated places, except for who collects the money. When will their number come up?

Easy to see why this continues, "Police discovered that both suspects had previously been arrested for human trafficking." Put them in jail for 10 years and see if it affects the others thinking about manipulating young girls into this trade.

Soi 45 if anyone is interested 😁 😁 😁

Hardly clueless about the happenings at the shop. Likely a customer there as well.

It shouldn’t have been that difficult to follow up on that location. Did everyone just assume that Ms. Skulnacha found god and changed her ways?

Maybe police checks should me mandatory for businesses before being allowed to operate. Yearly renewal with 90 day reporting.

Total corruption in the system, cops turn a blind eye or get paid off.

Were they found guilty after having been previously arrested. And if so, what was the sentence?

It almost seems they were out on bail, released without charge, just fined or some such. And went straight back to doing the same thing.

Evil incarnate! Lock up in prison for life.

How could the girls be forced to serve customers?

Couldn't they simply run away to the next police station?

(Or were they lured by easy earned money?)

And what about the parents? Didn't they know what the girls were doing? Or didn't want to know?

No prize for guessing why they didn't go to prison the first time they were arrestetd for human trafficking.

I don't think a farang bar/gogo manager would be foolish enough to collect the girls' 'fee' and then pay it back to them as salary. The bar fine system used in most farang-friendly places clearly separates the fee for releasing the girl from work and then payment for services to the provider personally. All legal.

Out of curiosity, I asked early this year what the bar fine was in one of the larger Nana Plaza bars and was quoted 4500 baht. Ouch! Too much for me but the guy I was with was happy with the price and took a girl out. The mamasan said that the girl's fee was included in the bar fine because some customers in the past refused to pay the girl after the service was provided and it was to protect the girls. Of course the assumption can be made that the customer is taking the girl on a date to a local restaurant and not back to the hotel. No proof that sex is involved. 555

I don't know if that bar was run by foreigners or Thais.

I never trusted mamasans that claimed they would pay the girl from the bar fine. Most likely the girl is heavily in debt to the bar, but still dodgy.

Sounds like it was run by Filipinos.

Then they should go to Isaan and arrest the women running classes to teach the girls how to cash in on the lucrative market. It's a soup to nuts scheme.

Despicable as it may be, I'm not seeing where anyone was "forced" into working at a brothel.

Most that go with prostitutes will never see the violence that happens daily all over. Too many places and too many traffickers, who coerce many into the trade, get them addicted, and threaten their families with violence. Women aren't going to talk if their family is threatened without backing.

Anyone in the trade, trafficking and hurting the girls, needs to be put away for a long time without parole, as it might make others think twice if a first offense means jail. Especially where children are involved.

Of course there are many that enter the trade after being molested at home, or forced by "parents" that are needing cash.

Are you suggesting that there are karaoke bars running underage prostitutes that are operated by "farang" ? If true they must be doing a roaring trade just imagine how much they have to pay up every month in order to be allowed to continue? To be honest I find it very hard to believe

Legal perhaps. How much longer it will be tolerated is a different matter. It would be pretty easy and a great distraction to whip up the populace against shady foreign bar owners who follow the letter of the law but offend Thai morality. The Israelis who got citizenship and are buying up businesses are a case in point. It's technically legal but violating the spirit of a law often gets the law rewritten. Ridding Thailand of foreigners who sell their daughters' virtue would be an easy task if the correct campaign was undertaken. I'd work on that campaign for free, just to play spoiler.
