The energy in the Democratic Party is clearly with the far left. Candidates campaign on hating Israel and win. They are very good at social media, excellent at public appearances, and give the impression of being normal and safe alternatives to the stale pablum of the old Democrats.

Yet, the rot runs deep. Polling shows that less than 30% of Democrats are proud/very proud to be American. This number was 80% at the beginning of 2001. Also that they see Socialism more favourably than Capitalism. These are trends that do not bode well for mainstream Democrats going forward.
