No more itemized receipts at BigC

Featured Replies

All I get is a slip confirming the sum I paid.

Sometimes I would like to know how much some items really cost, especially as the labels are hit and miss.

I can request an itemized receipt - that involves finding staff who knows how to do this, and a grand symphony of 327 clicks on their keyboard.

Is this normal?

Is this legal?

Definitely need a receipt, mistakes do happen. I've not had this problem but ask for it every time

Received receipts earlier this week bistro and fruit n veg!

How does the security guy check your goods against a " blank " receipt when leaving ?

You can use the Google Lens app to scan the BigC bill QR code. That should show you the full receipt,

I don't have a BigC receipt handy, so I can't explain further. If someone can post a receipt, I'll attempt to explain.

Likewise for a general shop on Wednesday.

How did you pay and which store?

Just visited a BIG C in Bk. I was given an itemized receipt.

7-ELEVEN on the other hand seems to be about 50% of the time.

Think the op is about BigC extra, not the biggest stores.

Membership number is a barcode in the app, they scan it

Very interesting answers.

Maybe you don't get an itemized receipt if you are a "BigC member", but if you buy anonymously you still get one?

I haven't got one for quite a while (weeks, maybe months - I don't look at the slip often).

I asked the cashier today as nobody was waiting behind me - I can get one by scanning the slip QR and playing the clicking symphony. I know this, I had them do it once.

I don't like this, as in the last couple of weeks there were numerous wrong price label.

It's a BigC extra, that's correct.

BigC extras are big, formerly Carrefour.

What you mean is mini BigC, this small version doesn't exist in my neighborhood

I shop at Big C Extra in Chiang Mai and upon giving my phone nr, it indicates the system to print a receipt itemized in English. However, a few months ago, the English version had disappeared and I complained with customer service who said they would pass the word to the IT dept. No change. After 3 weeks, I emailed support complaining and they assured me the situation would be rectified. It took another 2 weeks before the IT dept fixed the bug and receipts are now as they should, in English when I provide my member nr. I think it all depends on local IT who don't always see it as necessary and it takes a little pressure on customer service to get them to adjust the software to it's expected behavior. Contact customer service via email, tell them that Tops does it and they are losing in customer appreciation. It will take a few weeks and they will resolve the glitch. As for Makro, it seems a lost cause but maybe, just maybe , if people complain their IT guys might act as there is an English product description on the labels on the shelves. Just a small software rearrangement could do the trick.

Just purchase one item at a time, problem solved.

If you pay by card or QR you should receive 2 slips of paper. The payment confirmation and the itemized receipt. Maybe you're receiving the 1st one, then walking away before the till has produced the 2nd one.

That's their phone number, linked to their account. I use the wife's number on the odd times i remember it. Otherwise its "mai-mee" when they ask.

No.

I always get those 2 slips.

The payment confirmation and a NON-itemized receipt.

It just states how much I paid in total.

Today, a Thai lady in front of me wanted an itemized receipt. The cashier was able to do this, click click click click clicking clickcklick.....

The waiting customers were very happy.
