    My advice would be -- as much as possible -- get the hell away from Google. I made that transition about 10 years ago.

Yes I would think anything threatening to block your email would be a scammer.

I seem to get scam emails just about every day. They keep warning me to update my account or all my photos will be lost. I block them, but they come from a different address every day.
