    I would allow 3-5 working days but it could be more or less. Be flexible, Da Nang is a good place to hang out anyway.

Thanks for the clarification.
Incidentally, Thai IO at Chiang Khong was friendly as F, and genuinely made us feel welcome back.
Another fella (Aust pp) not far behind us was coming back for his third visa exempt (+ extensions) entry. He was held up, a superior was called, and only upon showing a confirmed ticket 5-6 days away, allowed back in (60 days). He'd only been out for 3 days, so without that plane ticket, would have been a different story.
