While renewing this morning, the agent started to write my phone number into my registration book. I was not pleased and made her remove it. She explained that the compulsory insurance is now linked to your phone number to receive a digital policy. I also remined her not to staple anything into the book!

It goes to show thailand's push for digitisation is outpacing user safety. People frequently ruin important documents with staples and compromise privacy, increasing the risk of identity theft.

Your agent was very patient with you, pay her more. Telephone number no issue, staple no issue, stop making dramas

Next time, I will just hand over my ATM PIN and my mother's maiden name to ensure the agent has a complete set to go with my name and address. We wouldn't want to cause "drama" by wanting official documents to remain legally valid and personal data to stay private, would we!
