A Finnish national rode a motorcycle to Pattaya City Police Station for help after allegedly being stabbed by his male partner during an argument over a small amount of money in the early hours of 2 July 2026.

At 3.15am Pol. Lt. Col. Sutheeraphan Thapsri, an investigating officer at Pattaya City Police Station, was on duty when 59-year-old Finnish national Mr Lauri Tapani Orling staggered into the station covered in blood. Police immediately contacted Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Pattaya rescue workers to provide emergency assistance.

According to the injured man, speaking through an interpreter, he had been in a relationship with his male partner for more than a year. Before the attack, the couple argued over an unpaid expense of around 200 baht, leading to a heated confrontation.

He told police that the other party allegedly used a sharp object to stab him above the eyebrow, beneath his left eye, and again in the left side of his chest near his heart. Despite his injuries, Mr Orling managed to grab the keys to his motorcycle and ride from the accommodation in Soi Buakhao to Pattaya City Police Station, approximately one kilometre away, to seek help from officers.

Rescue workers provided first aid at the police station before taking him to hospital. They confirmed he had lacerations to his eyebrow and below his left eye, together with a stab wound to the left side of his chest. Police also examined the victim’s motorcycle and found bloodstains on several parts of the vehicle, which were recorded as evidence.

Investigators have since coordinated with the police investigation team to inspect the room where the attack allegedly took place in Soi Buakhao. Officers are also reviewing CCTV footage from the area and are working to locate and question the suspect as part of the ongoing investigation. No arrests had been announced at the time of the police statement, and the investigation remains ongoing.

I don't understand why he didn't rush to the hospital in that area first before making it a police matter. The motivation for the stabbing doesn't make sense either.

Perhaps he was in a confused state relating to shock.....also he may have felt safer with the Police rather than the Hospital?

That's what the Aussie who killed the 17 year old should have done. Slashed himself.

Oh dear! how little you know about the world, though busily commenting on it.

For your information, in the broad there are butch gays, there are effeminate gays, and there are ordinary men who happen to be homosexual (such as me). And there are no doubt these days 101 sub-categories that people like to invent for themselves.

There are many effeminate straight men as well.

Awesome! Thanks for assuming we know little about the world. The comment and perception were only based on the general thought about a fully tattooed guy with a beer belly. You know the biker gang dudes, that are supposed to be seen as though guys. But thank you for the lesson. As I see it, first it was Lesbian and Gay. After that LGBT, and after LGBTQ and now LGBTQIA. Now you are coming here and telling us that there are 101 of them??? You are not that important! For me it´s still just hetero, gay and lesbian and after that maniacs like pedo and necro and so on. No need more! That some people like to dress in a different name does not change their sexual orientation. The fact is that a ladyboy is still gay, and a tomboy is still lesbian.

So, in my eyes it´s still a tattooed little wimp. Who know, maybe he was a Bandidos biker guy before, and then had a revelation that changed his life.

Tomboys are not all lesbians. The lifestyle has nothing to do with sexual choices.

All ladyboys are not gay either.

Tattoos have nothing to do with any sexual preference unless they are specifically ones that state it.

He is right about there being a different range of gays, even though they're still gay. His 101 statement was an exaggeration for the sake of it.

There are dominant male and female gays, and subservient, effeminate and tough, boisterous and closet types. Looks have nothing to do with being a wimp. I've known many very small men who could tear most anyone apart.

imo this has nothing to do with a 200 baht problem. This is a typical problem stemming from relationship conflict; one person may have cheated on the other, perhaps with financial consequences. These stabbings are an expression of blind rage triggered by an emotional conflict.

Without statistics to support your claims, these are just gratuitous speculations. You are probably basing this on "common knowledge" being a synonym for hearsay and lack of empirical evidence

I wonder what happens when gays have a "lovers tiff" In a hetrosexual relationship, petty disagreements don't get much further than a bit of shouting. the silent treatment , a lack of bedroom activity , or a combination of the three, generally speaking the unwritten rule of not hitting a woman is respected by men, but maybe exploited by the women who, emboldened by the fact that they are unlikely to suffer physical violence are not always inclined to hold back vocally and seem to enjoy pushing a man to his limits.

When its "man on man" there is no such social convention forbidding the handing out of a slap, or even having a full blown straightener, Does that lead to more incidents like this, or is the threat of a slap in the face enough to maintain the peace ?
