I always use the fast-track lane at BKK with my PR book. Never had a problem.

Am I wrong to assume that PR gives me fast-track access?

Because the last two flights I was denied entry to the fast-track lane. I tried both fast-track lanes and always asked the airport staff to go double-check with an immigration officer which they claimed they did. They always came back and claimed that the immigration officer confirmed that I can’t use fast-track.

The odd thing: every time this happened to me, I went to the immigration counter after passing through immigration and asked an officer there showing them my PR booklet and they always confirmed that I can use the fast-track lane with it.

So, my impression is:

New airport staff who don’t know about PR (they kept saying “work permit”) in combination with either not really going to the immigration officer to double-check OR accidentally giving them wrong information (“can he use a work permit?”).

The unfortunate thing is: there’s nothing you can do because they won’t let you walk through to the immigration officer to check with them. You’re stuck with a gatekeeper who doesn’t know that this is literally the most “long term Visa” that exists.

Did anyone else encounter this problem?

This is for departure from BKK. Never had an issue using it for arrival (yet).

Did you try Thai line with your special PR status. Thai can't use fast tract however you expect it's a given

You said "both fast track lines" which makes me think you're not talking about fast track at all. There is only one entrance to Fast Track, and it's between both immigration halls. It has a big archway, nearby the visa on arrival desk. I don't believe PR is one of the listed qualifications for entry for Fast Track.

The area that I think you are talking about is the "priority" lane, which is next to the Thai citizen lane. There would be 2 of these, because there are 2 immigration halls. Each one has their own priority line, which is normally for business class and disabled people.
