Vietnam is a successful Socialist country and Nordic countries seem to be successful under their policies closely allied to Democratic Socialism.

While a welfare state aims to modify capitalism with social safety nets, democratic socialism seeks to fundamentally dismantle the capitalist system. Under democratic socialism, the means of production—such as corporations and major industries—are brought under public or worker ownership.
