Knife Attack on Swedish Man Over Dead Chicks in Sisaket

Featured Replies

A Swedish man named Jimmy, aged 61, suffered a fractured skull in Sisaket province, Thailand, after being attacked by his wife's uncle over dead chicks. Despite filing a complaint with Khukhan Police, the suspect remains at large, and no compensation has been provided. The attack has left Jimmy with long-term injuries, including numbness and memory issues.

The incident occurred on March 28, when Jimmy noticed three dead chicks outside his Khukhan district home. Unaware he had accidentally run them over, the chicks belonged to Weeraphon, his wife's uncle. When confronted, Jimmy apologized, but Weeraphon attacked him with a knife.

Following the attack, Jimmy received hospital treatment for severe injuries, including a skull fracture and required 30 stitches. The incident has heightened his fears as local police have yet to apprehend Weeraphon. Saimai Survive, a non-profit organization, has promised to work with authorities to assist Jimmy in pursuing legal action.

The victim suggests underlying family tensions may have contributed to the attack, although he did not provide specifics. As investigations continue, there's a push for justice and resolution with local police coordination.

No shhhh... Sherlock !!! - thats some unhinged 'uncle' - clearly attempted murder for nothing more than an accident.

And in another thread we have a comment about a guy moving here 'avoiding' all foreigners - this just shows - unhinged mental cases are all around us - nationality is irrelevant.

Maybe the uncle was carrying a long time grudge because Jimmy the "rich farang" wouldn't agree to the uncles persistent requests for money to pay for his booze and gambling addiction.

Isaan in the village can get a little Twilight Zone sometimes if the extended family are basically nutcases.

Yaba daba do. Uncle's got a bad temper. There must have been some slight, real or imaginary.

I had a gf's male cousin try to build bun khun with me by filling my drink glasses with ice at a wedding in Isaan. She was suspicious of his behaviour and learned that he was planning to hit me up for 100k to pay off gambling debts. He was our ride back, so I decided we should head north instead, pretending it was a tourism trip. We took an early morning bus to Kon Kaen and avoided that late sleeping drunkard. The family said he threw a fit when he discovered that his mark had disappeared. As revenge he stole gf's mother's noodles I bought her. Mama laughed and shook her head when she heard about it.

Colonel Sanders sounds like a bit of a loon.

"Uncle" huh? Might be the Thai husband, I've seen this situation before.

While I was living in Thailand I dated a gal, mid-thirties who had her 20 something male "cousin" living with her. She often would ask if he could come along when I was taking her out and footing the bill.

I finally told her we're done unless the "cousin" goes away. She chose the young man.

Yes, I expect it doesn't always work out the idyllic idea of moving to rural Thailand so she is with her family.

When I read "Swedish man" I'd be lying if I said I wasn't secretly hoping it was Gottfrid.

What did Gilbert ever do to you ?

I guess he’s lucky it was only 3, although that seems like a lot of lazy chickens to hit by accident. A 4th could have easily turned into murder by this unhinged relative. The Swede apologized and I’m sure he would have replaced them if he didn’t get attacked. Nut cases everywhere.

These idiots let their chickens run all over the street then are angry when they get run over.

Not saying that's what's happening here because we don't know, but in general guys don't appreciate the fact then when you get involved with sex workers and move back to their village you're dealing with the lowest class trashy Thai people in the country.

It be like if a Thai man moved to America and started dating some girl he met in a titty bar next to the highway and then moved in with her at the trailer park. That's what you're doing in Thailand so you should probably knock it off already.

Puu yai's wife acted like everything coming out of my mouth was wet-your-pants hysterically funny. Had me thinking about a second career in stand up. Next thing I know, she's at the back door asking to borrow 3,000 baht. Realized It'd probably be best to forget plan to show up at a comedy club open mike night down in Bangkok.

why do stupid Farangs never learn ! Never move with your Thai wife or gf in their village or town ! Live as far away as possible to avoid family members that are jealous and after your money !

BEFORE you marry or settle down with anyone here, please do due diligence on the woman's family and extended family. It's easy to fall in love but not actually knowing everyone that consider you family or prey. My first wife here took out loans with anyone like a family tradition and of course, I never knew. The moment I showed up....everyone including the village Chief came asking for their money back.

Needless to say, I left. Didn't know the language or landscape but I knew it would be hell moving forward. Just don't do it as others have said. Unfortunately, blokes will continue to get screwed over and cry about ......even though we've all warned you.

Don't walk away from that family, Jimmy. RUN!

Head injury is hell.

May never fully recover, may have migraines for life, may have dementia.

Very serious crime, should be charged with attempted murder and locked up for many years.

There would well have been another previous incident we don't know about... whistling
