June 13Jun 13 Just imagine how many gold necklaces will be “lifted “ if they open the bars until 6 am. It is aimed at bringing in more high end tourists 😂🤣 So I’m sure they’ll be riddled with gold for the taking. But really, they should give everyone on the plane trip to Thailand a simple do and don’t list. It’s obvious many tourists are clueless, have no common sense or are scamming. If they were warned, they can only blame themselves.

June 13Jun 13 I always wonder why somebody goes on vacation and brings expensive jewelry, to wear out in the streets? Thailand is a relatively safe destination, but why temp fate, and why create a situation where there's opportunity for somebody of far lesser means to engage in a crime of opportunity? Darwin was absolutely right in his theories, and some people simply have much greater survival skills than others, and a greater ability to thrive in this world. If you don't want to get ripped off you have to use your common sense.

You can put it in the carry on or take it off. A 4000 Euro gold chain does not usually have 4000 Euro of gold in it. Have a look at the cost of basic gold chains. If 24K, It's usually less than 12 grams of gold.
June 14Jun 14 I have worn a gold chain (not Thai gold) for many years, traveled all over the world never any problems other than having to remove it a few times at airport security. I recently had to have ot devalued for insurance it came back as worth €7000! Its just a regular 24 at gold chain. So at 4k its more than possible.
