Tourist Visa Extension

Featured Replies

Hi All would like to know if anyone has used Hua Hin immigration for two consecutive tourist visa extensions. TR number 1 was from Savannakhet and was extended at Hua Hin immigration for another 30 days. TR number 2 was from Veintienne. Would there be any problems in using Hua Hin again for another ( hopefully ) 30 days extension? Last time I went there I was told that I could apply for a retirement visa and was given some info on this by a very helpful and pleasant officer but I plan to go home in the next few months anyway.

Thanks for any input on this

Do not believe you will have any problem.

Thanx Lopburi

Do you think it would be a problem if I went maybe 1 or 2 days earlier?

You should always go early for a tourist visa extension - it starts from end of current permitted to stay so you lose nothing.

I hope you are right but there have been a number of reports this last week from people who have had a problem getting 30 day extensions from other offices.

Thanks again. I didn't know that I would be allowed to go earlier. Will let you know how it goes, cheers

I sometimes go a week early. It's a good idea because if for some reason the extension was refused (or shortened to 7 days), it would give you some extra time to plan your next move.

Thanks for the information very helpful. Hua Hin immigration are very helpful and pleasant also no problem with getting another 30 days extension as I was asked, "How many days would you like 7 or 30?" He told me that I could go to Ranong and get another 30 days after my extension finished ( Visa Exempt Entry I believe ). This is the second consecutive extension on 2 tourist visas ( 60+30, 60+30 )that have been issued at this office on my U.K. passport. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. I took my girlfriend with me and he asked her ( in Thai ) if we were married, hopefully this info might be of use. Cheers.
