Hi all! I am new to the forum and will be traveling to Thailand from Sept to Dec 26th. On Dec 26th I need to go to Sydney, I am looking for the cheapest ticket possible..any ideas? It can be a roundtrip or one way..the thing is from Sydney I will be returning to either Malaysia (KL) Singapore or Manila..not sure whichever is cheapest/closest from Sydney. Please let me know how I can either incorporate this into my ticket or just do a roundtrip and fly back out of Bangkok!

Hope this makes sense!

Thank you for all your help!

I find getting a reservation to fly from BKK to Sydney and return during the holidays almost impossible after September 1, at least that was so in the past few years.

The issue of price never came up as I never found anyone that wasn't booked, at least on line. Try a travel agent.

Fares in Australian Dollars (AUD), but do NOT include government taxes and charges (generally need to add about AUD300).

Fares from Bangkok to Sydney & return on 26 Dec 2007

British Airways $972

Thai Airways $1001

Jetstar $1020

Qantas $1024

Cathay Pacific/Qantas $1030

Emirates $1045

Garuda Indonesia $1202

Singapore Airlines $1232

Edit: Having said that - you have chosen what is traditionally the busiest day for International travel (Boxing Day).

R U joking? Jetstar are more expensive than some national carriers

No available Jetstar flights that day, but on the 27th it's 12,800 one way.

Ok this is how you do it:

Book Sydney-Hochiminh on Jetstar 798AUD, upon arrival transfer by mini van to Phnom Penh (25USD) within 6 hours you are at PP airport. 25USD for Cambodia Visa.

Fly Air Asia to BKK (55USD), just in case you wanna save on cost and have few hours spare time.

Isnt that a great suggestion? :o

Anybody disagree?

Cheers, mate!

And BA 22,325.00

Mind you, BA is direct and Jetstar is via Melbourne.

If your coming back to malaysia then get a malaysian airllines or similar out of BKK to Syd with stopover in KL. Then get out at KL on the way back and throw your ticket away or keep your BKK leg for another date.

You will need to book and confirm a return or onward ticket, and remember you will need a visa.

The xmas/new year period is the worst and most expensive time to travel along with the easter holiday break.

Prices are subject to seating availability.
