French Certificate of Life

Featured Replies

I shortly will need to complete and get certified my Certificate of Life for my French pensions. I live in Pattaya and understand that I would need to visit the French Embassy in Bangkok to do this. The problem is that I am 85 years old and very sick and unable to travel. Is there a way I could do this without leaving Pattaya?

you can do it with your smartphone, look at the French embassy web site

I am French myself and it's now what every French in Thailand does ( or almost everybody )

No, you don't need to go to the embassy.

Do as I do: go to the city hall with your passport and the letter. They are nice and will stamp it for free

You can have your certificat de vie signed and stamped in the Pattaya police station next to Central. Costs Baht 200. Info Retraite also just released an app to do your certificat de vie. Go to the website https://www.info-retraite.fr

I am 85 and with it all being in French and my brain not functioning as well as it used to, I will find it all very confusing to do. Is there a company / person in Pattaya who for a fee would help me do it. It won't be until December.

The app to do it I posted above can be set to English.

or the outreach service at the Austrian Embassy:

https://th.diplomatie.gouv.fr/fr/permanence-pattaya

I used to use them but I understand they are no longer able to offer that service

If you mean the outreach service then this is on their website:

Otherwise use the app in English.

I thought the service was no longer available so I have just written to The French Embassy via email to check and will post their reply when and if I receive it.

For the embassy, you must go by yourself

if the application is too complicate, you can go to the Austrian consulate in Pattaya

The latest update I heard is that he no longer offers a service for the French Consul. How up to date is your information.

Look at the messages above, they told that it's still possible to do it with the Austrian consulate

As for me, I don't live in Pattaya and I do it with the application, from my home
