TM30 Online Reporting Issue

Featured Replies

While I was doing my 90-day report in person at CW the other day, the IO told me that I need to update my TM30. I hadn't updated it since 2024, and she told me that it needs to be updated online every year, even if nothing changes.

Since I am the owner and landlord of the property where I reside, I went into the online system today and added a new entry for myself in my existing TM30 account. I clicked on "Inform" and then filled out all the required information. I used today's date as the check-in date and my visa expiry date as the optional check-out date. After filling in everything else, I clicked "Save."

The system then told me that the report had been accepted and completed and gave me an option to download a record of the report. I clicked on that, but nothing happened. The only thing that happened was that all the data I had entered disappeared.

Maybe the problem was that I did this on my mobile phone and the system had trouble saving the file to my phone, so it simply failed to save the file. I went back into my account using a browser on my laptop, but I don't see any way to download the record of the report made today. I also did a search to try and locate the report using all the details I had entered today, but it says, "Data cannot be found."

It would be nice to have a copy of the report because the IO officer told me that I need to have the TM30 updated for my next 90-day report. I assume they will be able to see in the system that I completed it, but I would still like to have a copy of the report to show them if necessary.

I was thinking about entering the report again now, this time using my laptop, to see if I can download a copy after resubmitting it. However, I'm not sure whether that's a good idea or whether submitting it twice could cause a problem.

So I'm not sure what I should do next. Maybe after 24–48 hours, the entry I made today will become searchable, but I am not sure about that either.

Is there any other way to download or retrieve a copy of the TM30 report I submitted today? And should I wait 24–48 hours to see if the report becomes searchable, or would it be better to submit it again from my laptop anyway and see if I can save the report at the end after resubmitting?

If anyone has any personal experience with this, your input would be much appreciated.

You can search for TM30 notifications in the online system. Once you've found yours, you can download it.

As stated above, you can search for the entry you made. But be aware that you can only search for an entry that you made within the last 7 days. After that it will be gone and you cannot pull it up in the system again. So best to submit the information. Go back in and then search for it and "export" the pdf document that is proof of the TM30. Save that somewhere so you have access to it in the future, as the only way to get proof of TM30 if you don't save it will be to submit a brand new one due to the 7 day limitation.

Thank you both for your replies. I was searching for the submission I made earlier today but couldn’t find it because I was entering my full name. When I searched just now using only my last name, it came up. That was the problem and my mistake.

I also entered my visa expiry date as the check-out date when I submitted the entry, but I realize now that I could have simply left that field blank. I’m now considering deleting the entry and resubmitting it without a check-out date so that I don’t have to remember to update it again once the current check-out date passes.

It says I can delete the entry within 24 hours, but I’m not sure whether it’s worth deleting and resubmitting it now, or if I should just leave it as is and add a new entry once the check-out date passes?

No need to delete anything. Just submit a new one. A TM30 replaces all previous submissions.

Thank you. I just re-added my report with all the same information, but without a checkout date. That worked. Then I did a search, and both the old one and the new one came up. So I canceled the old one since it was still within the 24-hour cancellation period.

I downloaded a PDF of the new report and have that now in case I need it. I should be good for another year now, I guess...

Thanks.
