Trump Lays Groundwork to Impose National Emergency

Speaking of dumb.

“The reckoning will happen when BOTH HOUSES fall to the Dems”

We have one House of Representatives and one Senate.

While it has no bearing on you the Democratic Party is currently in a civil war. Half will most likely be jumping ship thanks to the DSA. They’re currently a mess.

I suppose I should give you a little credit for not wimping out and replying that you won’t reply to me anymore like @spidermike007 and @Lacessit did when I challenged them and proved their posts were not credible.

MAGA calling someone dumb while pedantically arguing over 'both Houses' is rather rich. Everyone understands it means the House and the Senate.

A cult member lecturing anyone on intelligence—the irony writes itself.

And questioning others' credibility while defending Trump's record—the hypocrisy speaks for itself.

But hey, at least they know how many Houses Congress has.

Once again Trump spouting about election safety and integrity, while he is recorded demanding Georgia 'find' him more votes--he should be in jail right now for that alone. Meanwhile, Republicans in Congress remain silent and spineless, and the Press not nearly agressive enough in confronting Trump and exposing his lies, illegal actions, and blatant corruption.

Projection is the stock in trade of the right. Not even their own dupes would vote for them if they were honest.

I’d worry if I was a US citizen going about my day that ICE thugs would murder me.

As you mention, “if you’re not breaking the law, why would you worry?”

I suggest that you direct that question to Diaper Donny in relation to the missing (until now) Epstein files which contain written FBI statements from 4 victims of abuse by the paedophile ring, front and centre being you know who.

You've been watching too much MSM. In millions of encounters during Trump47, how many innocent citizens has ICE murdered?

Even back in the '80s when I lived and worked in the Rio Grande valley in Texas, US citizens were dying in car chases and resisting arrest by La Migra. (Before 9/11, the organization chart was different and it may not have been called ICE. But they did the same job.) But only the ones that fought them, resisted arrest, or (as in the Good case), tried to run them over.

Ha ha. It’s duly noted that you delve back into those halcyon days in the 80s when La Migra were killing (maybe/probably) innocent people yet you have no comeback on the Trump/Epstein abuses which are slowly becoming clear during and subsequent to this period.

C’mon I dare ya! Defend the indefensible.

I’m sorry, but you don’t know what you’re talking about. Renée Good was not trying to run anyone over; she had turned away from the ICE agents in the street and was leaving the scene when Jonathan Ross shot her through the driver’s side window. All photos of the incident show exactly this. In a new administration, Ross will be arrested and charged with murder.

To you, and others who continue believe anything that gushes forth from the Mouth of Trump: it’s time to wake up now!

The article strongly suggests the administration is searching for a legal basis to impose federal control over election processes, possibly via:

  • an executive order declaring an emergency,

  • DHS oversight of voter rolls,

  • federal authority to de‑register voters,

  • restrictions on mail‑in voting,

  • documentary proof‑of‑citizenship requirements,

  • narrow photo‑ID rules.

The Save America Act fits this pattern: it would federalise key parts of election administration that are currently state‑run.Democratic lawmakers and advocacy groups preparing for scenarios like ICE at polling places or AI‑driven disinformation shows they interpret these moves as groundwork for aggressive federal intervention.

Federal and State Election Laws Ban Federal Forces from Polling Places

https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/federal-and-state-election-laws-ban-federal-forces-polling-places

President Trump has alluded to the idea of deploying federal agents to election locations, and several of his prominent supporters have dropped similar hints. His deployment of federalized National Guard soldiers to several cities has heightened concerns about election interference. But can the president send troops or ICE agents to polling places? No — both federal and state laws explicitly prohibit the federal government from carrying out these implied threats.

Only US citizens should vote in US elections. 80% of Americans think this should be the case.

That there is anyone in the world who could possibly believe Ms. Good was running over the agent after all the video that has come out beggars belief. And, as you point out, how can you shoot someone who is unarmed point blank from the side of the car if you are being run over? As far as I know, only a few Chinese cars can drive sideways.

One does not want to be in ICE custody. In 2025, 39 died in custody and in 2026 there have been 26 deaths so far.

I just rewatched those videos; anyone who thinks she was trying to run someone over must indeed be blind. And those numbers of deaths in ICE custody are shameful. People snatched off the street and thrown into camps with no due process.

I’d like to check out one of those Chinese sideways-driving cars!

You realize, I hope, that <@TheSCIF> on X.com, which you're referring to, is NOT the same as the SCIF, the NSI's official national security blog. The latter, I would hope, still maintains some credibility, though under Trump I have no idea; the former is garbage.

IDK why journos continue to repeat that the 2020 election was fair and not won by cheating on the left. It's proven and documented that Atlanta, Philadelphia and Detroit and probably Phoenix were won by cheating. Look it up by checking The SCIF among many others. Actually I do know why, they are surely getting paid by S0Ro$, S1ngh and a host of other rogues. There is nothing extreme about Trump, he is a middle of the roader. His personality on the other hand... but you must understand he's from NYC.

Likely 70% by the morally bankrupt right, and 30% by the ethically depraved left. All politicians at the national level cheat, but Trump and the GOP have made an art of it. After all Don has an entire lifetime of practice.

I fully support:

"Trump allies have pushed the Save America Act, which a White House spokesperson said would help ensure “Americans, and Americans only” decide elections. The proposal would require states to submit voter rolls for federal inspection, allow DHS to de-register people deemed ineligible, reduce mail-in voting and require documentary proof of citizenship to register, along with a narrow set of photo IDs to vote."

What's not to like about the Save America Act. Only unpatriotic American citizens would appose this act..........also the left wing Democrats that want to encourage illegals to vote for them.

Not a day past without Trump breaking the law, creating havoc with the economy and making disastrous foreign policies. When will the Republican senators have the fortitude to confront him like their predecessors did confronting Nixon and force him to resign. That will be a patriotic thing to do and history will remember them as heros and not the cowardly sycophants enabling the demented lunatic to ruin America.

You're confusing a president taking an action that gets challenged in court with a president committing a crime every day. That's not how our system works.

Trump tries things, people sue and the courts decide whether he has the authority to do them. If the Supreme Court says no and the administration follows the ruling, that's the constitutional system working.

Biden did the same thing. He tried to cancel hundreds of billions in student loans under the HEROES Act. The Supreme Court ruled 6–3 that he didn't have the authority to do it. Biden then pursued student-loan relief through different legal mechanisms, including SAVE, which was also challenged and blocked by the courts.

Nixon is a completely different comparison. Nixon wasn't facing impeachment because a court disagreed with one of his policy decisions. Watergate involved obstruction of justice, abuse of power and defying congressional subpoenas.

If you're saying Trump is “breaking the law every day,” then name the specific law, the specific action and the court ruling.

Simply saying “Trump is breaking the law” doesn't establish that he is.

His speech also triggered speculation from allies that a national emergency could be used to delegitimise any results in November.

Or cancel them altogether. That was his obvious plan as soon as he sent his ICE agents onto the streets to incite protest. Maybe a test run?

No, ICE was sent out to enforce federal immigration law and arrest people who are in the country illegally or otherwise subject to removal. That's their job.

Some sanctuary cities refuse to cooperate with ICE on certain immigration enforcement matters, but that doesn't prevent the federal government from enforcing federal immigration law in those cities. Federal immigration agents don't need a city's permission to operate there.

Going from "Trump sent ICE agents to enforce immigration law" to "Trump deliberately sent them out to incite protests so he could cancel the November elections" is a pretty enormous leap. What actual evidence is there that this was his plan?

If we're going to accuse a president of planning to cancel a national election, there should be evidence behind the accusation, not just speculation.

Thank you for your comments, which totally ignore the unnecessary provocation and murders committed by masked thugs who faced no consequences for their actions. And their indiscriminate arrest of anyone who didn't look American as they were on their way to legal employment, provoking protest rallies. It is such an obvious ploy that only MAGA braindeads couldn't recognise it for what it is. Or refuse to.

I think two different things are being mixed together here.

You can believe Biden legitimately won the 2020 election and still acknowledge that there were problems with election procedures that deserve scrutiny. Those aren't contradictory positions.

Georgia itself documented election-law and procedural problems, particularly in Fulton County. There were issues with absentee ballots, record keeping and election administration. But Georgia also conducted a statewide hand count of more than 5 million ballots and that confirmed Biden won Georgia. So I'm not claiming that proves Trump won Georgia it doesn't.

California is another legitimate election integrity discussion. California requires someone registering to vote to declare under penalty of perjury that they are a U.S. citizen, but it generally does not require documentary proof of citizenship such as a passport or birth certificate. I think it's perfectly reasonable to question whether that is sufficient verification.

My problem is with treating every question about election procedures as if someone is automatically claiming the entire 2020 election was stolen. Election systems should be transparent enough that people can question procedures, identify violations and demand improvements without immediately being dismissed as spreading the "Big Lie."

You're making several accusations here without actually providing evidence for them.

If an ICE agent unlawfully kills or assaults someone, investigate it and prosecute the agent if the evidence supports it. I have no problem with that. But you can't simply characterize every use of force as "murder" while ignoring what happened immediately before the force was used, including whether someone resisted arrest, assaulted an officer, interfered with an arrest or created a dangerous situation. Each incident has to be judged on facts.

And what exactly does "didn't look American" mean? Americans come in every race and ethnicity. ICE also arrests and deports people from predominantly white European countries. Immigration status isn't a race.

If you have evidence that ICE was indiscriminately arresting people solely because of their race rather than their immigration status or reasonable suspicion, then post the evidence and we can discuss it.

But you're still avoiding my original question: what evidence shows Trump deployed ICE specifically to provoke protests so he could cancel the November election? Calling people "MAGA braindeads" isn't evidence of that.

I'm not going to argue with a closed mind. If you want proof, give us proof that those thugs who murdered civilians faced trial. Not even to be found not guilty. Hushed up to be forgotten.

7 minutes ago, Bangkok Barry said:

Arguing? I didn't think we were arguing. I thought we were discussing an issue and looking at the facts.

You're the one who made the claim that ICE agents "murdered civilians" and faced no consequences. I asked you for the evidence supporting that claim and your response is that I now have to prove your claim wrong? That's not how this works.

And I actually fatal shootings involving immigration agents have been investigated. The Houston shooting for example is being investigated by the U.S. Attorney's Office, FBI, DHS and state / local authorities. The Maine ICE shooting is being investigated by the Maine Attorney General's Office. Other shootings have also been subject to investigation.

An investigation not resulting in an officer being put on trial doesn't mean it was "hushed up." It can simply mean investigators or prosecutors haven't found sufficient evidence to bring criminal charges or that the investigation is still ongoing.

You called these incidents "murders." Murder is a criminal act, not simply another word for someone being killed by a law-enforcement officer. If an agent committed murder, prosecute them. I've already said that. But if you're going to claim ICE agents murdered civilians and the government covered it up then show the evidence. I'm perfectly willing to look at it.

Asking you to support your own accusation doesn't make me "closed minded."
