Bond rates rising.

Inflation (PCE) @ 3.7%

23,000 jobs lost, previous jobs data revised down by 103,000.

Financial institutions increasingly utilizing Fed Repo facilities.

Personal Bankruptcies up 12% on the year.

Business bankruptcies up 13% on the year.

National Debt $40 Trillion

On the cusp of fiscal dominance.

While the idiot in the White House thinks it’s time to cut interest rates.

Higher rates will cost even more, affording interest payments on that ridiculous rising debt. The debt might slowly erased by more printing but then lower rates mean a lower dollar. Basically, the US is already screwed either way and has already lost partial control of its own bond market.

Large shipments of physical gold have already been repatriated from the US to places like France and there are less willing buyers of US treasuries. This loss of trust will help drive the coming huge economic and financial crisis - it's just a question of when and to what disaster level?

This problem has become quite evident over the last 20 years, with the 2008 GFC and Covid crises used as excuses for insane bail-outs courtesy of even crazier money printing, even over long interim periods, when it was unjustified.

Footnote/edit to Chomper.

I knew you'd blame Trump but Biden was worse. Trump actually tried to raise rates a bit in 2018 but the magic US market spat the dummy. The fact is that this problem has been allowed to grow significantly since Bush 2 and Obama. The Americans have had the advantage of the world's reserve currency but they forgot to be respectful of it.

BRICS has been steadily eating into this. The flip is inevitable.

Trump is too old and senile to be president... there should be age limits on Presidents, senators, and congress people because once they get too old, they are no longer in touch with the world and only reinforce dogma from the past.

There is a minimun age of 35 for the president, so why not an age limit or a service limit for congressmen or senators?

Same goes for the UK, the Lords should be restricted to a 10 year service or age limit, then retire... you can't have 85 year-old people making decisions on a world they no longer understand or can even stay awake for to listen too. It's nonsense.

Historical fact is not one of your strong suits when you wish to offer a politically motivated opinion.

There is nothing imperialist with the European presence in the Falklands because the Falklands were uninhabited before the Europeans arrived. The Argentinians were not present. The Spanish were not present. The European powers sorted out the Falklands amongst themselves.

You advocate that all the possessions of the European exploiters should be freed and reparations imposed. Ok. Let's see the USA lead the way by handing back Texas and California to Mexico. It can also hand back much of the US northeast to Canada. All of Great Britains formal colonoies have been freed for decades. If there is any affiliation with the current UK is mutual and voluntary. This is very differnt than the current US colonial occupation of Hawaii, Guam and Puerto Rico.

Put a sock in it donnie....you have created enough chaos in the world. Go drool in your soup and stare at Natalies boobs and leave running the world to people who have an IQ in triple digits.

got it. the exploiters sorted it out.

texas was independent and voluntarily associated with the usa. we rescued california, guam etc from the rapacious and murderous spanish and made them part of the greatest country in the world. guams per capita income is higher than spains

And just signed a deal with Venezuela worth 65 billion barrels of oil, making Canada redundant.

What has Carney been up to? Lol.

Well, I suppose it was a deal in much the way that The King of The Belgians dealt with the Congo!

The United States walked in, overthrow the government, kidnapped the President and took their oil.

Let's face it, if a European country did that you would all be wetting yourselves and shouting (quite rightly) about colonial exploitation. But because it is the USA, and oil, then somehow it is praiseworthy!

Roll on the Cuban Emigre proconsular rule!

Why you link to article that's not valid anymore and easy to check.

Lot more clear now: a controlled reopening under U.S. influence, with Western and some non-Chinese Asian firms advancing, production rising, and a new legal framework designed to attract capital. Progress has been real. Political and legal risk remains the biggest overhang for the largest, most risk-averse companies (especially Exxon and Conoco).

From Trump it's still the biggest oil deal in history. He locked in majority U.S. control of 65 BILLION barrels of Venezuelan oil at ZERO cost to taxpayers (this you must hate and that China is not there).

Doubles American reserves (which Biden destroyed). This will crush gas prices and it's bad for Canada too.

And no, Trump didn’t “cause” the losses. Chávez and Maduro STOLE American oil assets years ago through socialist nationalization (which you seem love).

Trump is the one taking it back and putting America first so cry harder.

A much better analogy would have been Iraq, not Congo. The UK created Iraq out of thin air to get at the 110 billion of barrel of oil Iraq had, though the Brits didn't know exactly how much at the time, they just knew it was a lot of oil.

Somehow overthrowing a government seems less bad than creating a brand new country out of thin air, disregarding all ethnic lines, just to get at oil. Let's face it, when it comes to colonial exploitation, Britain was in a class of her own.

Obviously this deal is a lot more praiseworthy. It gives Venezuela massive tax revenues and real control of the venture. Much more than what the Brits gave to the people of Iraq.

I'm not a fan of looting a country's resources.

But Trump insists that the Venezuelans will be taken care of.

Also, the govt there was too corrupt to extract their own oil anyway and not taking care of its own population very well.

So those 2 factors combined suggests it was justified to me.

The US is taking only 55% of the 65 billion barrels of oil, Venezuela gets 45%. Which given that US companies will have to pay for the wholesale renovation of Venezuelan infrastructure and make massive investments of 100 billion dollars plus, is actually very generous and moderate of Trump. Venezuela is getting 45% of 65 billion barrels of oil. A fortune.

Both parties can be happy. Again, Trump, artist of the deal. He is really getting things done, very impressive performance by Trump.

It should be noted also that when the Brits, French etc got together to take Iraq's oil and created that country out of nothing, they retained ownership of the oil company alone and did not give the Iraqis any share at all. Only modest fixed royalties per barrel, charity really.

So there are clear differences here to colonial exploitation. Iraq really was total exploitation. Venezuela is getting a good share of the 65 billion barrels of oil, 45% percent plus all the tax they will collect on that oil of course. Not to mention the jobs that are created.

China is number 1 in looting resources. They would have done that in Venezuela if Trump did not go in.

Oil prices up everywhere and venezuelans would have been left even poorer and with a same a-hole dictator.

Now they have a chance.

BS

Article dated February 19, 2026 EnergyNow Media

I posted update but seems you are filled with "MAGA cult drivel" and Trump thoughts only.

As details of this gigantic oil deal emerge it looks like the US is getting the full 65 billion barrels of oil, with Venezuela keeping 200 billion plus. Venezuela has the world's largest oil reserves, bigger than Saudi. So now we know why Maduro is gone.

The US is keeping control with 55% of the entities that are set up to extract the oil, with Venezuelan private sector investors getting 45%. But the US is "only" getting 65 billion barrels, with Venezuela keeping over 200 billion barrels.

This really is the largest oil deal in history. I thought Iraq was bigger, but no, this is the largest oil deal in history.

Looks very fair to Venezuela too. Certainly much more equitable than the colonial exploitation of Iraq back in the day by the Brits.

Did you use Google AI? I assume as facts don't matter to you. Here's what is says:

As an AI, I sometimes mistakenly generate specific dates or details when trying to construct a response, especially when trying to reconcile a past article with the fact that today is September 1, 2026. There was no real-world source or update for that date. You caught my error directly. Since I cannot browse the live internet to see what has actually changed in Venezuela since February 2026, I should have simply told you that right away.

Only huge WINS for Trump in Venezuela.

Yes. There's a nice way to get resources and then there's the China way (looting and bribing) where Africa is a good example of this. They would have destroyed Venezuela.

Here's a recap for your failing memory: Maduro in a Brooklyn cell, US hand on the export tap, 65 billion barrels locked into an American-led JV.

That is the scoreboard. The rest is whether Caracas ever gets a real vote.

I do enjoy when someone is hating Trump 24/7 and there's nothing else in the head. Must be a miserable life.

See, you have nothing.

Show a credible source that there are large international oil companies interested to get involved in the extraction of the crude.

Weak.

Reuters, 31 Aug 2026: Chevron, GE Vernova, India’s ONGC, Italy’s Eni and Colombia’s GeoPark are on track to sign final energy pacts in Venezuela this week, five sources close to the talks said. New hydrocarbons law lets them operate fields, export the barrels and keep the cash. Chevron’s package is described as “significant size” extra Orinoco block plus Monagas North for diluent. ONGC: about $200 million into San Cristóbal.

WSJ / Bloomberg, 28 Aug: Chevron is close to adding two heavy-oil fields and pouring billions in. Halliburton is in talks on services. Hunt Oil and SLB already signed this month. Chevron already runs three JVs and about 260,000 bpd, aiming for ~375,000.

Already lifting or expanding: Chevron, Repsol, Eni. Shell and BP are on the offshore gas track (Loran / Deltana) with UAE/Qatar partners. Trafigura has people in Caracas; Vitol is hiring.

Reuters, WSJ and Bloomberg. Nobody said Exxon is writing a cheque tomorrow as 2007 still stings. The claim “no large internationals interested” is already false. Chevron never left. The queue is forming.

“No majors interested” is you not reading/understanding or both.

Continue your hate. I'm interested how fast it can actually consume a human being. I bet there are studies in the future on this and your side does provide a lot of material on top of all LGBTQ2++ and other crap you have invented.
