Reuters, 31 Aug 2026: Chevron, GE Vernova, India’s ONGC, Italy’s Eni and Colombia’s GeoPark are on track to sign final energy pacts in Venezuela this week, five sources close to the talks said. New hydrocarbons law lets them operate fields, export the barrels and keep the cash. Chevron’s package is described as “significant size” extra Orinoco block plus Monagas North for diluent. ONGC: about $200 million into San Cristóbal.

WSJ / Bloomberg, 28 Aug: Chevron is close to adding two heavy-oil fields and pouring billions in. Halliburton is in talks on services. Hunt Oil and SLB already signed this month. Chevron already runs three JVs and about 260,000 bpd, aiming for ~375,000.

Already lifting or expanding: Chevron, Repsol, Eni. Shell and BP are on the offshore gas track (Loran / Deltana) with UAE/Qatar partners. Trafigura has people in Caracas; Vitol is hiring.

Reuters, WSJ and Bloomberg. Nobody said Exxon is writing a cheque tomorrow as 2007 still stings. The claim “no large internationals interested” is already false. Chevron never left. The queue is forming.

“No majors interested” is you not reading/understanding or both.

Continue your hate. I'm interested how fast it can actually consume a human being. I bet there are studies in the future on this and your side does provide a lot of material on top of all LGBTQ2++ and other crap you have invented.

Why you don't read what you write? Are you illiterate?

Are on track to sign, are in talks to return, are on the offshore gas track. Does that mean any other than Chevron is extracting crude?

BTW, it's against forum rules to make claims without a credible link

What Carney is doing certainly does not make economic sense. Job losses, a falling Dollar, recession, this is what he is gifting Canadians. It's bizarre. But then he did not do wonders for the UK either when was at the Bank of England. Maybe he's just incompetent and out of his depth.

Meanwhile Trump already secured the biggest oil deal in history with Venezuela and is already substituting Canada.

It won't stop his fan boys, who swoon when they hear Goldman Sachs, Harvard and Oxford, proclaiming Carney is a genius. Time will tell, lol. I rather doubt it.

That oil deal is a joke. Nothing is signed, and estimates are 100 billion dollars to get the oil field up and running again. No one has stepped up to invest 100 B in a country that may go back into revolution. Plus, we are looking at years down the road before any of this could happen. In two years, when Trump is gone, the woman who won the election will return to her country, as Trump will not allow her to return now. If she wins again, the thug that Trump installed will do the same thing as his boss, whom Trump took out and put in charge. Who in their right mind would invest with these odds? But it sounds good to the MAGA low-IQ cult.

That’s not what I asked you but you being you have no answer so you provide your typical “straw man garbage “.

You hate being challenged on your outrageous false claims.

I have to keep you in check. And I will. :)

As details of this gigantic oil deal emerge it looks like the US is getting the full 65 billion barrels of oil, with Venezuela keeping 200 billion plus. Venezuela has the world's largest oil reserves, bigger than Saudi. So now we know why Maduro is gone.

The US is keeping control with 55% of the entities that are set up to extract the oil, with Venezuelan private sector investors getting 45%. But the US is "only" getting 65 billion barrels, with Venezuela keeping over 200 billion barrels.

This really is the largest oil deal in history. I thought Iraq was bigger, but no, this is the largest oil deal in history.

Looks very fair to Venezuela too. Certainly much more equitable than the colonial exploitation of Iraq back in the day by the Brits.

An illegal deal, that will eventually be cancelled.

You are alas, ill informed. Chevron is currently invested in the country. Many more will follow now.

Quite a lot of people will, as they will appreciate that the US is keenly aware of the importance of Venezuelan oil.

I understand you're upset that Canadian oil will be irrelevant soon, however, we both know that deal will not be cancelled and will go ahead.

Hunt and SLB signed. Chevron is already pumping a quarter million barrels. Reuters has five firms at the table this week. $100B is a rebuild estimate and not a missing wire. Political risk is real. “Nothing is signed / no majors / MAGA cope” is you arguing with last years newspaper. Try better.

Here's how I see "bullying". Canada ran a surplus for years and called it friendship. The EU lectures and dumps. NATO took the umbrella and skipped the bill.

Pushing back is not bullying. Eating it forever is.

If you run a shop, do you aim for a loss or a profit? Countries are not charities. A permanent trade hole and a defence bill you alone to pay is not alliance.

It is a bad year, every year.

Simple enough for you to understand?

A much better analogy would have been Iraq, not Congo. The UK created Iraq out of thin air to get at the 110 billion of barrel of oil Iraq had, though the Brits didn't know exactly how much at the time, they just knew it was a lot of oil.

Somehow overthrowing a government seems less bad than creating a brand new country out of thin air, disregarding all ethnic lines, just to get at oil. Let's face it, when it comes to colonial exploitation, Britain was in a class of her own.

Obviously this deal is a lot more praiseworthy. It gives Venezuela massive tax revenues and real control of the venture. Much more than what the Brits gave to the people of Iraq.

Poor comparison. That "thin air" existed as a void after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, which had controlled what is Iraq now for about 400 years.

Some news outlets here in the UK are running a News that Donald Trump has poked his nose into the Falkland Islands again saying the US will be reviewing its posistion on the Falkland islands. First there is no need to review anything its just Trump throwing his toy's out because the UK would not join his war with Iran. Second what the hell has Trump got to do with the falklands ? and thirdly he should keep his nose out of any other country's affairs. He just causes trouble what ever he touches. Sort your own country out first Donald before you stick your nose where its not wanted.

The US already has a Falklands policy.

Reviewing it is leverage for NATO cash and for Iran. “None of his business” is what you say after you’ve spent forty years making it his business.

Sort the defence budget before you lecture the man holding the recognition.

I think UK needs to sort out illegals too and they could learn a thing or two from Trump. Problem is that weaklings (commies) are in charge. Soon it will be first islamic country with nukes if the current trend continues and then there's something else to worry about than Falklands.

Indeed- as in sport you can only play the opposition in front of you- Carney is a highly educated professional- as to the orange felon- well the less said the better really

Multiple bankruptcies ( 5or 6 - not sure as I I lost count), 34 felony convictions, adjudicated rapist in Federal Court, adjudicated sex abuser by SCOTUS, proven long established affair with model post Barons arrival, close "friendship" with Stormy Daniels confirmed and established as an affair in Federal Court, had his Trump University closed down due to endemic fraud theft and embezzlement as was the same fate and same reasons for closure of the Trump Charity - and let us not forget is bravery seen in his dodging the draft due to "bone spurs"!

Until the infrastructure is set up, there's nowhere to hold/process/refine extra oil right now. PDVSA has a database of assets and Schlumberger has already signed a long-term framework agreement with them (Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A.) with this in mind w.r.t. the revitalization and modernization of Venezuela’s oil and gas sector.

Why you link to article that's not valid anymore and easy to check.

Lot more clear now: a controlled reopening under U.S. influence, with Western and some non-Chinese Asian firms advancing, production rising, and a new legal framework designed to attract capital. Progress has been real. Political and legal risk remains the biggest overhang for the largest, most risk-averse companies (especially Exxon and Conoco).

From Trump it's still the biggest oil deal in history. He locked in majority U.S. control of 65 BILLION barrels of Venezuelan oil at ZERO cost to taxpayers (this you must hate and that China is not there).

Doubles American reserves (which Biden destroyed). This will crush gas prices and it's bad for Canada too.

And no, Trump didn’t “cause” the losses. Chávez and Maduro STOLE American oil assets years ago through socialist nationalization (which you seem love).

Trump is the one taking it back and putting America first so cry harder.

#AmericaFirst

Great model.

Invade a soverign country and steal their oil. What's next? Invade Thailand and steal all the massage girls? Hey maybe we can also invade Canada and take all their oil and energy? I hear France has some nice wine....let's invade and take it away. How to win friends and influence people....or how to get the entire world to hate the USA?

He can't help sticking his snout into other countrys Pomchop he has upset Greenland, most European Countrys , Canada, Ukraine Venezuela, Mexico etc. Every country he trys to bully he F ks it up.

Nobody invaded or plan to invade Thailand for massage girls. Nobody is loading Bordeaux at gunpoint. “World will hate the USA” is not a balance sheet. Get a grip.

Oh, the forum commie. Maduro is in a cell. Oil contracts are being signed. Canada still sells lumber. Europe still hides under the same umbrella.

Spoken like a true gullible yank get a grip of reality Finn.

5 - 7 years before any of that oil becomes available because of lack of infrastructure

Yeah so that means 5-7 more years of people complaining on this forum that Trump hasn't accomplished anything because people don't realize that things take time.

A lesson for all those bootlicking America and mainly the UK and the European Union.
