Fitting out new 17 foot centre console

Featured Replies

Just bought new 17ft centre console in Rayong, previous owner had it built at a local builder to use as charter but then decided to sell it due to low demand (he has a couple of other boats).

I will use as a family boat for island hopping, fishing, day trips and island camping around where we are based at Krabi Thailand. There seems to be a few options for day trips to islands.

I will keep the thread going for anyone interested.

Next steps:

  • Boat seller is helping me to get a trailer built

  • Getting quotes for 90hp suzuki and 100hp yamaha outboards

  • Will install a T top canopy and rear baitboard

  • Will need to organise tilt tray truck and transport it from Rayong to Krabi

  • Registration of boat and trailer, also not sure if I need a boat license (I have one in Australia) will do some research

I will look into Tohatsu but trust the Yamaha and Suzuki brands as Ive had them in the past on boats in Australia.

Got a quote for 325,000th for a new Yamaha F100GETX and 335,000thb for a new Suzuki DF90ATX so far (plus fitting costs and hydraulic steering).

Leaning towards the Yammy.

Get a zuki or yamaha 9.9 for a backup, nothing worse than being dead in the water.

Not true for me...

Make sure the installation incudes full controls and full installation, including a sea trial and prop selection.

Yeah will do, want good hydraulic steering and will do a sea trial, researching prop pitch now.

Will get a hydrofoil fitted too (if I can find something similar in Thailand, otherwise will import one from Aus).

Two sixties would be nice...

The Yammy is the g-o, good solid engine, you wont be disapointed.

Yes you will need a boat licence, they are not that hard to obtain.
